TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
I too am very angry that the show has been cancelled!!! It is a great show.
I am just sick over the cancellation of Longmire. In a perfect world, AMC should pick up Longmire and then we could enjoy Hell on Wheels AND Longmire on Saturdays!! It won’t be long, there won’t be anything left to watch on TV.
Oh! and by the way, I loved Glades too and that was ripped unceremoniously away from us also.
this is crazy!!! it’s one of the few shows on tv worth watching! please bring it back. the last episode left us hanging, at least finish what you start.
They cancel the BEST show on tv???? A&E can go to H$ll!! I removed them from my channel lineup.
This is stupid, just shows who controls the strings not the viewers.
This is crazy. I love this show. All my friends think its the best on TV. Some of my friends didn’t know about it and I told them when and where. Some have recently binged and watched all the previous seasons and this one and we were all l00king forward to more. I hate TV. Just when you find a show that is different, has good acting, scenery, etc. it is cancelled. I am just about done with TV. It’s all the same crap.
Will not watch anything on A&E!!!!! Nothing worthwhile since Longmire canceled.
Cancelled?!??? this is a huge mistake by A and E Executives. Cancel a show for adults that is well written and acted – I am shocked! I agree with one of the other commenters – “what can you expect from a station that runs Duck Dynasty.” I do hope one of the other cable stations picks up this winner!
I really don’t care for your decision to cancel Longmire. What I would like to know is Why!, Really you keep the stupid reality shows and get rid of a good series.
Why is it that A&E concels good programs (Longmire) and keeps a lot of garbage. A lot of us enjoy Longmire and Craig Johnsons novels. Now we will just have to watch less of A&E with all the junk shows they have and spend more time on other networks. I’m retired and watch some tele at nite and enjoyed Longmire.
Just my comment on A&E programming — BAH
Ed
Furious about this! Every time a good show is created, “the powers that be” decide to cancel a good show. A&E please get your act together! You’ve recently screwed up twice!
A great show and there is no legitimate reason why it should be cancelled!!!!
It should be renewed it is a great show
I’m so sorry this show has been cancelled, it was one of my favorites. Please give us some closure as to what happens with Walt finding his wife’s killer.
I’m still mad about the Glades being cancelled. You left Callie standing at the altar and Jim lying in a pool of blood in the new house he bought for her. That’s really bad!
What the HECK is wrong with AE,, I agree with all the positive comments.
I’m so sick of idiot reality shows and comedies, give us something worth watching.
