TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
I’m with you Debroah C Longmire was an entertaining clean show They cancel that and seriously people!!! You watch that reality trash We are the laughing stock of the world with that ‘stuff’ we call entertaining.
I really liked the show, and missed the last episode , and wish they’d renew. I do agree, the reality shows are sick, and not worth watching, unless it’s Duck Dynasty. please, bring Longmire back!!!
Another good show bites the dust. Cannot believe they would cancel it without some kind of final ending at least.
There are getting to be so few shows on TV that attract my interest like Longmire does. All the stations seem to think reality shows are the way to go. I got news for them, I live my life daily and that’s reality, I don’t need to watch other people and there personally screwed up life adventures that should be there own PRIVATE BUSINESS not the rest of the worlds. Why would you want the rest of the world to know how stupid you can be and how you let your kids be so rude and crude and disrespectful to… Read more »
3.5 million viewers for a basic cable show isn’t good enough? wow that’s tough. sorry to see it go. it should be kept but hey, is hulu watching?
My favorite show on TV. never miss a episode. Will truly miss this show if it does not return
One of the best shows that A & E had produced. Longmire is exciting, well acted and something different from everything else on TV these days. What a mistake for A&E to make, I won’t be watching anymore.
I just do not understand A&E. Why would you cancel you best show on your network? $sorry but that was my reason for watching your network at all. I hope someone who has a brain on another network will pick it up. Your lost, in more ways than one.
Used to most of our tv viewing was on a&e. …lately longmire was the only one on that channel we watched….now you’ve cancelled this…well now we watch nothing on a & e….reality tv sucks…but the I think you know that..
KEEP Longmire!!! It’s a fantastic show. A&E is making a bad decision
It seems as though a quality show for intelligent adults is doomed to failure. Is it too expensive to produce? Or are the networks forgetting that older people enjoy intelligent thoughtful programming without all the nudity, foul language, blood and gore. I’ll take a well written show anytime over a “reality” show that is so staged it’s not even amusing.
I hope they rethink their stupid decision to cancel Longmire it’s one of my favorite shows and I really look forward to watching it every week. The way they keep cancelling all the good shows the only thing left will be the stupid reality shows which are for morons.
If Longmire is done I am done with A&E. Does anyone really watch all those stupid reality shows they put on? Longmire is one of the best shows on television and hopefully another station will pick it up. The acting is great, stories are great, and it could have a lot of years ahead if another station picks it up. I am in disbelief that they would cancel this one.
Very disappointing A& E. Finally, a great show based on a series of novels written by Craig Johnson – I never missed an episode. I don’t watch reality TV and I’m a little tired of some the forensic shows which are starting to sound like same old story different just revamped in a different format. I hope another network will pick up this show, as for A&E you have nothing else to interest me.
We love Longmire. Don’t watch those stupid sit coms with canned laughter. Longmire has a good story & actors. Please reconsider the cancelation. Too may fans will be unhappy.
I hope that it is continued by another network. A&E has lost a great show
Sad day for us Longmire fans. I guess A & E will run out a few more tattoo shows and a bunch of bull that would make a hog puke.
I myself will never need to watch A&E again. I can’t believe they would cancel a quality show like this and leave the trash they have on there now.
Hopefully another network like USA or TNT will pick it up. A&E never did much for this show as far as I was concerned anyway.
Pretty soon I won’t need to watch anything on tv, since there is barely anything on anymore worth watching.
Ok, So I emailed Warner Bros. about my dissatisfaction. I want Longmire not Reality TV, zombies, undead or anything else. It is a great show, wonderfully written, great cast and my favorite show.
