TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Longmire is a great show, and it is unique. I think it should be renewed for another season. It is unfortunate because it is the only show on A&E that I watch. So now I won’t be watching anything on that channel.
That is a stupid decision, This is one of a few shows that we as a family plan to watch together. They should renew the contract and keep this show ( Longmire) going.
Finally to have an intelligent, quality series and, thank goodness, something honest set in the contemporary West. Exactly how many viewers qualifies to make a show on A&E lucrative? So long A(rts)&E(ntertainmeny), keep the ridiculous reality shows. Hoping the producers of Longmire quickly find a lucrative network to pick Longmire scripts up – will have plenty of loyal fans follow
I will not watch this channel A&E NO MORE THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME THEY DO THIS THEY CANCELL GREAT SHOWS IN SHORT TIME HOW SAD
you know why!!!!!! Couse they don’t have any GAY people in it or blacks or Jews, that’s why!!!! not like the new American family were channel USA tells everybody that being gay is ok, nothing but trash that’s why I don’t watch USA NO MORE THIS WAS A GOOD CLEAN AMERICAN SHOW WERE CONSERVATIVE PEOPLE IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES BY BEING DECENT. So is to decent for the the liberals that’s not follow their agenda so sad, it was my favorite show.
Words escape me other than – dumb! Only watched 2 shows on A&E…no reason to watch the other now as with type of decision making it will soon be history.
Just how do you decide to cancel shows. It is obvious that you don’t go by the quality of the show, or you would not have cancelled the Glades and now Longmire. A & E you are not giving viewers anything to watch. Thank God that there are other channels to watch. I will not be watching anything on A & E again.
This is one of the best shows on and they cancel it, what are they thinking, obviously they are not thinking! I hope a great channel picks it up we’ll switch to that!
what is going on at A&E they must be run by a bunch of idiot trying to run the network out of business first they cancel Glades and now Longmire might as well go back to watching Tvland
A&E give an explanation for its insanity? Strongly suggest that a show ranked at the top that has had no real complaints should be brought back.
Can’t believe it! Longmire is our favorite show.. We need more entertainment like this. Hated that Glades was cancelled. Agree that reality shows are stupid and not the least bit likely to be watched in our family.
I can not believe they cancelled longmire it was a great clean show please consider renewal of the older episodes and to restart the movie we depreciated at least the old ones
Longmire should NOT have been cancelled! Some other station should pick it up.
I am in agreement with the others. Just when you have a good, really good show you cancel it? But you leave on Reality shows that are Not real and comedy shows which are not funny? This show had many viewers and was one of the only shows that intelligent older people could look forward to watching. Is it that the people that are making decisions there are too young to understand or what?
I totally agree with most every comment on here. Thetrash that some stations show these days is just that and Longmire was refreshing and acutally had a plot unlike so called reality tv which is garbage mostly. A & E has lost me as a viewer.
