TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
I can’t even begin to tell A&E my disappointment with the cancelling of Longmire. One of the best shows on TV. Same with the Glades that I already wrote about a couple of weeks ago. Adult entertainment instead of these stupid reality shows and ridiculous sitcoms. I hope they will consider or like one of the other writers here, another network will pick it up. No reason to watch A&E anymore…
Sad… It is the only show I watch on tv! Please reconsider renewing!
Really, one of the best shows on TV, bad
decision. I guess it’s time to boycott A&E
I love Longmire. I am so disappointed. Hope someone else picks it up.
I had always assumed that A&E was a network that selected quality shows. shows that consisted of strong characters, strong story lines with amazing actors that bring the show together.
Longmire was a refreshing change from the vampires, werewolves, night time soap operas etc etc… All entertaining but just not of the same quality. i truly hope that the show is picked up by another network that will appreciate and keep its integrity but makes more out of it.
I am disappointed and completely flabbergasted that Longmire has been cancelled. I was literally holding my breath at the last scene of the finale. This show is intelligent, superbly acted and directed and the scripts are phenomenal. I have read a few of the novels and feel that the show portrays all characters perfectly. I am having such a difficult time finding anything worthwile and thought provoking to watch on TV. How could A & E do this to us? It was bad enough cancelling The Glades after that emotional cliff hanger of a finale. I think whoever is calling… Read more »
hell yes the series should be renewed. It was a great show – I think the critics that review these shows should be fired and new critics bought in and there should be a way for the ordinary person wathching these shows to be able to vote for their return as well…
renewed
They cancel Longmire without a solution or warning, just like canceling Glades with the lead character dying on the floor. Yet still run commericals for it and want you to buy the dvds. I understand these are expensive to produce but more garbage like Duck Dynasty please! Most of us are more evolved than that! Someone Please pick it up! USA network found something for Jim Passamore hopefully they will comr thru for Longmire. Shame on you a&e ( small letters )
First you cancel my favorite show The Glades now my new favorite Longmire. Who the hell is running that network some blindfolded chimp ?????? Now it will be more suck ass reality bull****.
Thanks for nothing
Rodney
Great show great cast should not be canceled hope it gets picked up
Can’t understand the logic behind cancelling this wonderfully entertaining show. All the characters played well and the plots were intriguing. It’s just like A&E to drop a show that has this much to give to the audience and to drop it like they did The Glades. Never will forgive them for that, not allowing closure and leaving the character to bleed out on the floor of the future bride’s dream home on their wedding day. Some cliff hanger. Some Network. Shame on you, A&E.
I love the show but this A& E seems to make sme really bad choices about their network i find there are fewer and fewer shows that I watch on there station because thet make bad choices
You got to be kidding !!!! What a bummer!!
This was the best series on tv. This series should be renewed.
