There was an instant attraction between Ben Parr and Kate Swanson on the new CBS sitcom, Mad Love. Unfortunately, not enough viewers fell in love with the show and it’s now been cancelled after one season.
Mad Love revolves around four young New Yorkers. Two are falling in love with one another while the other two can’t stand each other — at least in the beginning. Ben (Jason Biggs) is a hopeless romantic and an attorney who’s trying to build a relationship with Kate (Sarah Chalke), the girl of his dreams. Larry (Tyler Labine) is Ben’s best friend and co-worker. He and Kate’s roommate, Connie (Judy Greer), don’t like each other but they have a lot more in common that either will admit.
The sitcom debuted on Valentines Day appropriately enough to a 3.0 rating in the ever-important 18-49 demographic and 8.74 million viewers. That was a positive start and seemed to be very compatible with its lead-in, How I Met Your Mother.

Unfortunately, the show’s ratings started declining immediately. Last week’s episode fell to a series low with a 1.9 rating in the demographic and 5.11 million viewers. That was a loss of 27% from the lead-in demo and viewership levels are naturally higher at 8:30 than they are at 8:00.
The 12 episodes of Mad Love that have aired so far have averaged a 2.3 in the demo and 6.49 million viewers. CBS obviously feels that a sitcom in that timeslot should perform better so they’ve cancelled Mad Love.
Two other freshman shows, $#*! My Dad Says and The Defenders were also cancelled today.
The de facto series finale of Mad Love will air tomorrow night at 8:30pm. Sadly it doesn’t look like we’ll find out how the love story would have finished.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Mad Love isn’t being renewed for a second season? Why do you think this series didn’t catch on?

Tyler Labine was so funny I wish the show was still on I really enjoyed watching him and I hope he comes back to tv SOON!
The show was great with lots of humor and larry-connie relationship had a very different energy. CBS sucks to not renew this great show
I was looking forward to the season premeire…guess i’ll be waiting a while! I really enjoyed the show.
Maybe it can take the place of the ‘new’ 2 and a half men.
This is a very very good show. Please remove the sequel!
It’s very, very good one! Please to be a continue…
I am disappointed too! I thought it was a great show, a lot of chemistry and an easy watch.
I’m sad to hear it! Great show!!!!!!
This show had all the elements that made other, previous sitcoms big hits.Problem was there was nothing new or interesting, or worse, funny about it. The cast was cute and it looked like it should be a hit, but that`s not enough anymore . It was retty obvious from the start that this show did`nt have what it takes to make a long run, it was pretty much out of breath mid season of it`s first and only season.
This blows CBS Sucks!!! I hope they loss on the new crap they put in it’s place
MAD LOVE was a really good show in which the cast had great chemistry. I wish another station would pick this up. It has potential to be a Friends/Seinfield kind of hit.
This is why I rarely watch network TV. They always pulls this. Atleast have a series finale. Otherwise whats the point. Fans always get screwed
dang sucks when good shows get cancelled and theres nothing you can do about it like mad love, glory daze and traffic light!! ughhh
I really really enjoyed this show. I was hoping that it got picked up for a second season. Then I recently saw that Sarah Chalke (actress who played Kate) joined another cast in a recurring role and caught on to the fact that Mad Love wasn’t coming back.. I agree with Awilda. Try another time/day to see if more viewers will catch on! The chemistry that this ENTIRE cast has is really great and hard to come by. Especially amazing since they were almost all last-minute recasts…
Everyone loved the Connie-Larry relationship!!
Продолжайте снимать. Очень неплохой сериал.
I like this show a lot!
