Last week, CBS debuted their newest medical drama, Miami Medical. Their previous new medical show, Three Rivers, didn’t last very long. Will this new one fare any better?
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The CBS drama features Lana Parrilla, Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
In its first week on the air, Miami Medical attracted a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. That’s not a very good performance but, in the show’s defense, a lot of network programming was down that night.

Last night, for episode two, the other CBS shows saw their ratings rise but Miami Medical didn’t. The doctor show actually fell instead, to a 1.4 rating and 7.1 million viewers. It ranked in first place in overall viewers and tied for first in the demo. On the downside, in the same timeslot, Numb3rs averaged a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million viewers and it’s very likely to be cancelled.
In comparison to other programming, Miami Medical looks positive but the numbers for the whole night are so bad overall that you have to wonder if CBS can make enough money to justify running expensive dramas.
CBS likely won’t make a decision about the show’s future for awhile. They’ve ordered 13 episodes and, unless the ratings take a dramatic dive, they’ll probably let them all air. It doesn’t hurt that the program’s co-executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
But, what do you think? Is Miami Medical worth your time each week? Cancel or keep it?

Keep it. This is a good medical show. I think CBS should give it a chance. It should at least get a second season.
KEEP IT !!!! I love Miami Medical… I have to agree with everyone else we need to give it a chance… I used to watch Numbers and then when the season started over it was gone.. Dont let this happen to Miami Medical… This is one of my favorites on Friday night…. This is one of the best please dont cancel the show…. We need to give it one more year at least before thinking about cancelling it…
CBS should keep Miami Medical !!!!! It’s the best show on Sunday night along with the Amazing Race. I love the story lines and the characters!!! Why is it all the good shows get cancelled and the stupid ones stay on.

KEEP IT!! CBS reconsider. I love this show, and I watch it ever night. Give this show a chance, if you do you wont be disappointed!!!

Yes They need to keep this show.. I love the show, Its one of the best medicial type shows out there!!!!!!!!!!!!! The stories were great. I am so tired of getting into a good show and then they cancel just like jerico.
I am 25 and can’t wait to watch this show on Fridays! Don’t cancel this!!!!! Every time viewers get into a show all you do is cancel it. Why not give this show some time? Maybe people are weary to get into new shows for fear of them being canceled any way. Also, find a way to check the ratings when people DVR their show. A majority of people do that.

I love it! There is such a mix of emotions on the show. It is a great show to end my week with and I look forward to it every Friday.
Keep it!!! I didn’t even see a promotion for it but we stumbled on it and it is amazing!! I am sick and tired of these networks keeping crappy shows on the air and canceling these really great shows!! This show will be a hit, it has the potiential to go very far!!
KEEP IT. I’m 22, and i wait for fridays to come because of this! It’s next to CSI: Miami and The Big Bang Theory on my list of tv shows to watch! I like all the cast! I can’t wait even wait for the first season to be on DVD!

KEEP IT. Does CBS think that those of us past 45 or 50 are the only demographic paying any attention to. If you hadn’t noticed there are a lot of senior citizens spending a lot of money and Miami Medical is a good show so PLEASE KEEP IT. How can it lose with Jerry Bruckheimer producing it.
Another medical drama in another trendy city? How many of these cookie cutter shows can there exist? There is at least one medical show everyday of the week. Lets see….SCENE: Operating Room-the operation is going good and wait, oh no “we have a bleeder”. SCENE: Young Doctor “hunky” is para-surfing when his waterproof phone starts to ring.
