Last week, CBS debuted their newest medical drama, Miami Medical. Their previous new medical show, Three Rivers, didn’t last very long. Will this new one fare any better?
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The CBS drama features Lana Parrilla, Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
In its first week on the air, Miami Medical attracted a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. That’s not a very good performance but, in the show’s defense, a lot of network programming was down that night.

Last night, for episode two, the other CBS shows saw their ratings rise but Miami Medical didn’t. The doctor show actually fell instead, to a 1.4 rating and 7.1 million viewers. It ranked in first place in overall viewers and tied for first in the demo. On the downside, in the same timeslot, Numb3rs averaged a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million viewers and it’s very likely to be cancelled.
In comparison to other programming, Miami Medical looks positive but the numbers for the whole night are so bad overall that you have to wonder if CBS can make enough money to justify running expensive dramas.
CBS likely won’t make a decision about the show’s future for awhile. They’ve ordered 13 episodes and, unless the ratings take a dramatic dive, they’ll probably let them all air. It doesn’t hurt that the program’s co-executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
But, what do you think? Is Miami Medical worth your time each week? Cancel or keep it?

Please do not cancel Miami Medical. I guess the people who watch this show does not have a vote. If we did, the show would be saved.
My wife and I love Miami Medical. Please do not cancel it, it is one of the best new shows on the air if your going to cancel something get rid of those crummy reality shows. Also Mercy is another favorite show that truly disappointed us when you canceled that show
In deed this is a keeper…
The characters are believable and VERY likeable….Everything about it holds your interest and the actors are excellent…it is a close runner of ER…
It is clean and wholesome …oops did I say that …maybe thas why CBS is cancelling it…
My husband and I finally found a series we both like and we don’t have to turn it off out of embarrassment if our teenage grandchildren pop in…We prayer that some network will be smart enough to pick it up……..
Kepp it … Its a very nice show …
We want a SEASON 2 !!!!
please keep miami medical. good characters, good acting, a really refreshing show.. what about putting it on after ncis & moving ncis la to a different slot
KEEP IT, PLEASE.
KEEP IT, KEEP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
keep i, KEEP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love this show – I’m a CSI fanatic (the original of course) and this is one of the few shows I watch outside of crime and such. Characters are great, story lines are great and like another post stated it’s not all about people hooking up and making out – it’s stories about the patients … can’t believe it’s cancelled! Bad Decision.
Miami Medical is one of the best tv shows this year. It needs to be brought back to the line-up. Trauma needs to be brought back also. Mercy needs to be brought back also. They brought back Three Rivers and that one wasn’t very good. The other shows were better than this one. Thanks, Robin
Keeeeeeep it on!
please keep miami medical on its one of the few good dramas i love watching
My family is very disappointed that CBS has decided to cancel what we feel is one of the best Medical dramas on TV today. The great chemistry between the shows characters along with the witty screen writing blends perfectly with the practical medical situations that occur in everyday life. With decisions like this it is no wonder why we tend to watch more shows on NBC or ABC. Flashpoint was another example of a great show that CBS pulled the plug on but came back to its scenes. Hopefully they will do the same Miami Medical.
Please keep it. Wrong time slot & bad timing does not mean this show won’ become a heavy hitter for CBS if given a fair chance.
Keep this on! It’s one of the few medical shows where everyone is not making out in the closets of the hospital. Refreshing. Good characters!
