Last week, CBS debuted their newest medical drama, Miami Medical. Their previous new medical show, Three Rivers, didn’t last very long. Will this new one fare any better?
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The CBS drama features Lana Parrilla, Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
In its first week on the air, Miami Medical attracted a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. That’s not a very good performance but, in the show’s defense, a lot of network programming was down that night.

Last night, for episode two, the other CBS shows saw their ratings rise but Miami Medical didn’t. The doctor show actually fell instead, to a 1.4 rating and 7.1 million viewers. It ranked in first place in overall viewers and tied for first in the demo. On the downside, in the same timeslot, Numb3rs averaged a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million viewers and it’s very likely to be cancelled.
In comparison to other programming, Miami Medical looks positive but the numbers for the whole night are so bad overall that you have to wonder if CBS can make enough money to justify running expensive dramas.
CBS likely won’t make a decision about the show’s future for awhile. They’ve ordered 13 episodes and, unless the ratings take a dramatic dive, they’ll probably let them all air. It doesn’t hurt that the program’s co-executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
But, what do you think? Is Miami Medical worth your time each week? Cancel or keep it?

Please keep this show!!! Why not cancel those CSI shows. There all the same,plus all the women on these shows all dress like hookers, with their low cut tops and high heel shoes. Who dresses like that in law enforcement? That’s not acceptable in normal work places! Get real, people!!
I don’t know about web sites but can access them, not create them. CBS, You are making one huge mistake if you cancel this show. It is the best, any genre, to come along in years.
Gads, Me & M’Lady were both disappointed to see the July episode of ‘Miami Medical’ was shown as the Season Final. It was a Great drama, and as far as we both were concerned, was/is right up there with ‘House’. I saw the figures that were posted, seems everything these days are aimed for the younger (25 to 49) viewers, we’re both over 65, so I just guess CBS is just like Obama, doesn’t listen to the people, just the over-rated polls.
Please keep this show on the air. The family really enjoys watching it and the characters on the show make it believable. Don’t cancel another great show on us. There aren’t that many left that are truly enjoyable! I admit we watched it for the first time because there was nothing else on television to watch. It hooked us from the first episode and we look forward to the next show. I agree with Robert, the show is a sleeper and with the right advertising more people will know about it and start watching. Great show! Why do you keep canceling shows that are worth watching? Friday night isn’t a time slot that is not friendly for any show. It should of received more advertising and placed in a slot that is practical. Actually had some content that was believable and not saying that would never work. Put show back on please.

Please, PLEASE don’t cancel your best program! Put it up on another night, advertise it a little more! This show has a great chance of dropping in as a “sleeper” the way FOX’s “House” did. Please bring it back for another year.

You Guys are crazy if you don’t bring Miami Medical back! The first time that my husband and I watched the show we loved it! What viewers are they asking about whether they are watching the show or not? I have never met anyone who was asked. Every time a new show comes on that I like, they cancel it! This show needs to be brought back. It is addicting and after the last show, viewers were left hanging! Listen to all of the comments from the people who love this show!
Please Keep this show!! Its got great chemistry and putting it on the air on a friday night makes it hard for some people to watch…If given a good slot Id put money on it doing as good as the CSI series…its a very addicting show!!
