Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Missing has been cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t succeed? How long should have the show realistically lasted — one season, two, three or more?

Bring back Missing!!!! It’s an awesome show with an addicating plot. I’m deeply saden to know that it will not come back for a second session. ABC please give it another shot!!! Good luck Ashley Judd love ya!!!!
I am VERY Disappointed that this show has been cancelled, my family loved watching it and we didn’t miss one episode. I think they need to give it another season to see how it does, season one was setting the story line!! and what happened to Becca!!!??!!
A number of people I know really enjoyed this show & couldn’t believe it was cancelled! So unfortunate 🙁
I loved the show even though at times, it seemed a bit far fetched.
I love Ashley Judd and some of the other characters.
I hope some other station picks up the show.

I really enjoyed the shows even if they seemed a little far fetched. I love Ashley Judd and a lot of the other characters on the show.
The whole theme of the show didn’t seem like there was enough material to make a continuing series out of it. I am dissapointed that the show has been canceled.
I wish the show would somehow come back on and stay on with material that would enable it to continue as a weekly show.
Overall, I thought the show was great.
Refreshing to watch something different. Such a shame it’s not coming back! Agh
Why do they always cancel the good shows?!?!? This show kept you at the edge of your seat. They started the show at a bad time. That was the only reason for the ratings!
I never missed an episode. Ashley Judd is awesome. We need more woman kicking butt on TV! And what about that finale? You don’t end a series with a finale like that. Someone please pick up this show!!!!
I want moooooore :’x
I love to watch Ashley Judd act. She is real and make’s an exciting roll every time. Now i am very sad and believe the show would have pickup up on the next season. It was slow trying to set up the story line but I know it would have gotten much more exciting just because to the actors ability to act. I guess if its not a reality shows it’s hard to compete. I would love to see Ashley get back to making great movies. She can carry a movie all by herself. This was just not meant to… Read more »
How could you cancel this show after the leaving the viewers up in the air with the ending. What has happened to Becca – Please, you must continue this show!! Loved the plot – very entertaining.
I think the show failed becaused it started just as other shows were completing their season and the season final shows are always the most watched. After my shows ended I started to watch missing and couldn’t stop. I did a marathon and now I am hooked!!!!Can anything be done?
dammit, my husband and i really liked this show and we can’t believe it was cancelled!!!!! There are so many crappy shows out there (ie reality shows, fake reality shows, etc) that should be cancelled before this show. I thought the storyline was good, the acting was good, the locations were good……..what more do people want???? more stupid pregnant teens with zits crying that their boyfriend wants to go out drinking and not spend time with them???? are you kidding!!!! I really hope another station picks this show up so we can learn what happened to Becca…..
Entertaining show for sure, but I honestly think it was cancelled due to the poor acting of the son in the show. His acting made the events unfolding laughable. It ruined the show for myself and almost everyone I talked to who had seen the show. Plus the cinematography was too predictable. Get creative. Look at AMC’s The Killing. While the story has been similar to other shows, the camera work an style are original. So people like it. Acting is top notch too. Tough break for Judd, but she should have gone back to the casting books for the… Read more »
I am very disappointed! Hope they reconsider. Didn’t give it much of a chance….love Giancarlo!
