With a title like Mr. Robot, some television viewers had pretty low expectations for the USA Network series last summer. It ended up being one of the most talked about shows of the summer. Will the ratings soar in season two or will they disappoint? Could it be cancelled? Stay tuned.
Mr. Robot follows a young programmer (Rami Malek) who finds himself at a crossroad. The mysterious leader (Christian Slater) of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the corrupt and dangerous firm he’s being paid to protect. The rest of the cast includes Michael Cristofer, Stephanie Corneliussen, Grace Gummer, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, and Martin Wallström.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
8/16 update: USA Network has renewed Mr. Robot for a third season. Details here.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Mr. Robot averaged a 0.48 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.39 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Mr. Robot TV series? Do you think that it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
Unfortionetely Season 2 is more akin to Lost then it is to Season 1 of Mr Robot 🙁
This show had one great season and since then it’s been horrid. After the “big reveal” it had nothing left to say.
Season 2 was awful, couldn’t go past the 3rd episode. Rami and the show used to be relatable in season 1, but now that he’s clearly severely mentally ill and it’s more and out that, he’s just cray and needs to check into a hospital. No wonder it keeps losing the younger audience. The director wrote this to be 5 parts so USA will probably renew it till then. I mean what other show gives them this much publicity? They’ve got the most boring programming. Anotice I flip on that channel it’s either modern family or SVU
Season 1 was excellent leading up to the “big reveal.” Since then, this show sucks, and the writing has become pretentious. Cancel it anytime.
I love it!! Season 3, YES!!
