As expected, NBC has pulled their low-rated new series, Persons Unknown, from the Monday night line-up. Thankfully they haven’t yanked it off the air completely. They’re just moving it to the Saturday night graveyard.
Persons Unknown revolves around a group of strangers who awaken in a ghost town and are unable to leave. The cast includes Chadwick Boseman, Lee Purcell, Jason Wiles, Andy Greenfield, Daisy Betts, Tina Holmes, Alan Ruck, Kate Lang Johnson, Sean O’Bryan, and Gerald Kyd.
The TV show has been performing very poorly so July 5th will be its last Monday night airing. Beginning July 17th, it will show up on NBC’s Saturday night schedule instead.
The Visa Gymnastics Championships will preempt the show on August 14th. Otherwise, it looks like Persons Unknown will run uninterrupted and conclude with episode 13 on September 4th. Producers have maintained that the final episode will properly wrap the series.

If by chance NBC pulls the low-rated show off the air before all of the episodes have aired, fans can take solace in the fact that they’re already scheduled to be released on DVD. Right now, the Persons Unknown: Season One set is scheduled for an August 31st release. That date may change now that NBC has altered their primetime schedule.
NBC has promoted Persons Unknown as a mini-series and, since it’s gotten poor ratings, there’s virtually no chance that it will return to the peacock network for another round.
However, the series was initially produced for international buyers and the studios could decide to make another season, presumably with a new mystery and group of people. The decision to call the forthcoming DVD set “season one” and not “the complete series” seems to support that possibility.
What do you think? Will you keep watching Persons Unknown or wait for the DVD release? Would you be interested in a second season?

I love this show, and seriously they need to stop the schedule changing! first it was Mondays at 10pm, which was great!! then it was still on Mondays but at 8pm and now it will aired on Saturday! really?? naybe thats the reason why it has low raitings! annyways, I will follow this show annywhere and visit the web site as much as possible to assure it doesnt get pulled off the air.
I love the show and will keep watching. I didn’t know it was changed to Saturday and I almost went crazy when I didn’t see it Monday night. I get so mad when a great show comes on T.V. and then it gets pulled. Maybe people just haven’t heard of it yet, or know what a great show it is. I think it should be given a chance for a second season. Please don’t let this be the last season.
Well, it certainly kept me watching week to week, and like others also mentioned, I was sure disappointed that it wasn’t on tonight, and I will follow it to Saturdays probably, if it’s not on too late. I was also a fan of Flash Forward. I just want a show that I can get into, that keeps me guessing, and as “Annoyed” said, they keep axing the good ones and keep churning out more and more garbage, and the garbage keeps going and going, like the Duracell Bunny. . .
I like the show, but it revolves around a group of strangers who were Kidnapped and held against their will in a ghost town. It’s a good mystery, but a little twisted.
Great show! At least they’re still scheduling a finale. Second season? You bet!
Love this show. I hope it doesn’t get canceled altogether. Yes, my family and I would watch another season.
I love how every show that’s worth a damn on TV cannot attract an intellegent enough audience to keep it going. Persons Unknown had the opportunity to be a Lost all over again (which I didn’t watch, but hey, that show did last as long as it did). Also, Flash Forward, COME ON! That was another GREAT DAMN television show. It was possibilities of a realistic future disaster in a present setting. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was excellent. October Road for the few romantics…GONE.. and how about Eastwick? That had a real shot to be great. AND ABC… Read more »
I love it. Its new and intresting to watch. I will watch on sat.
I really like this show a lot and agree it would likely do better in the ratings in the Fall or Winter. It’s refreshing to have a mystery to follow. I was also watching “Happy Town” on ABC before they yanked that. At least these type shows are engaging as opposed to all the reality shows swarming the networks these days. Just drove an hour back home (instead of going shopping) so I could be in time to watch it tonight. Very disappointed.
I love this show, so bummed that it’s not on tonight!
I will follow them to Sat, please keep it on NBC, it is great writing.
I really love this show. I even quit going with my husband to our usual Mon night out so I wouldn’t miss it. I stayed home tonight to see it and was very unhappy to find it had been switched to Sat.
Love the show. Can’t wait to see what happens from week to week.
I really like the show . It is so nice to have something to watch durning the summer months. I would like to see it continue. I do believe it would do better in the fall. But I’m really enjoying it now. I would watch a second season of it. Please consider not canceling it.
I’m loving Persons Unknown! I would definitely watch a second season.
i LOVE this show! just a bad spot for a new show during the summer months. Would probably get a better viewing if it was winter months.
