FOX introduced a few new law enforcement TV shows, in the 2016-17 television season. While Lethal Weapon has already been renewed for a second season, APB is struggling in the TV ratings and could be cancelled. Which path will the new Shots Fired TV show follow? Will it be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Airing on the FOX television network, Shots Fired stars Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Stephen Moyer, Will Patton, Mack Wilds, Aisha Hinds, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Conor Leslie, DeWanda Wise, and Richard Dreyfuss. Helen Hunt, Jill Hennessy, and Dennis Haysbert guest star.
A timely mystery drama thriller, Shots Fired is a 10-hour limited series which explores the tense aftermath of two racially charged shootings in a small North Carolina town. When African-American Deputy Joshua Beck (Wilds) shoots and kills an unarmed white college student, it unsettles his small burg. As word spreads about the overlooked murder of an African-American teenager, tensions flare. Launching an investigation, the Department of Justice dispatches experienced investigator Ashe Akino (Lathan) and young Special Prosecutor Preston Terry (James) to investigate.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This was one of the best shoes on television, I’m very disappointed that it’s not returning. I hope the network reconsiders its decision. The cast really did a great job if bringing the characters to life.
I love the series shot Preston and Ashe are spectacular. And the stars from underground make the show so real.. and it keeps you wanting to see what next
This show was great, very interesting, I hope this comes back for a second series, it’s better than a lot of crap out there, we look forward for another episode. Please don’t cancel, this is one of our favorite shows. We love this

Let’s hope it is cancelled! And an “actual” good series is renewed. This is nothing but a horrifically bad, unaccountable, sleezy, revamp of “Heat of the Night”. “Shots Fired” a wanna be “Series” that TOTALLY misses the mark. “Heat of the Night”, Movie and TV series which were really and truly honest and avant-garde for the time should file “homicide”, “theft” and ” gross negligence” against the creators of (LOL!!!) People like you make me wonder no more why are world is the way it is. You have all the options to change the channel, turn off your tv, maybe take a good look at the life you have. Those who work on these shows, in front of & behind the scenes, some of them need their jobs. BTW this is a fictional tv show, not a documentary. There’s no rule that every series needs to be “avant-garde”.
I have to disagree with your comment, this show has many truths that we fail to see and understand unless you are Black or Latino. I am the only one in my field of work. I am educated and the smartest one on my team but I am black. I am considered a sell out to some black people and a threat to some white people because they do not have my degrees and tenacity. The show is very interesting and keeps your attention, kept me looking forward to the next episode. I hope it doesn’t get cancelled.

So why is the show being cancelled? I would love to know. Is it too real for americans who have their eyes wide shut to these situations everyday? This is a great show. Disappointed that there will be no season 2.
I’m confused to why it’s getting cancelled because where I stay that’s what everyone talks about it’s a great show I stay tuned every wed it’s based on real life issues n I will watch a 2nd season I mean i think there ratings aren’t right
THis is what always happens you have a great show great actors and just because they don’t give shows enough time to develop which I don’t think this show needed It by the way, they cancel it and there goes another great show regardless of what we think!! I liked the series from the start the show Will be missed

I think they should have a second season of Shotsfired. I liked it! They should also put Shotsfired on DVD! I hope the at least do that! Don’t Cancel!!
I am a BIG FAN of Shots Fired I hope it does not get cancelled. This is one of the realest shows on television and the actors are awesome.

Absolutely one of the best shows in a long time! I love the lead characters….and the actors were superb, as was the story line! I am sick that it is cancelled and will not have a second season….I feel the show wasn’t given a chance or proper promotion.
