TV show description:
This competition series follows contestants as they embark on a transformative journey to find a balance between mind and body as they work to “get strong.” Professional volleyball player and fitness expert Gabrielle Reece hosts the program.
Each looking to improve herself mentally and physically, 10 women from all walks of life work with 10 elite male fitness trainers. The contestants train in pairs and work to conquer a series of challenges that push them to their limits.
In each episode, the two-person teams train together and compete in multiple physical challenges that incorporate a number of formidable obstacles. The challenges put them to the test in the areas of strength, endurance and mental stamina.
As the contestants strive to dominate the courses and the competition, they see flab turn to muscle, doubt turn to confidence, and weakness turn to strength.
Each week one team is eliminated, and at the end of every episode, their transformational journey is shown.
At the end of the season, the winning team takes home up to $500,000.
Episode #10 – The Final Showdown
The two remaining teams are pushed to their absolute limits in three punishing legs of the Strong finals. Every ounce of mental fortitude and acquired strength is on display as they fight tooth and nail for the right to take home their prize money and be crowned the winner of “Strong.”
First aired: June 2, 2016
What do you think? Do you like the Strong TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I love watching Strong so when will it start again?
This show is awesome!
I didn’t even know this was on.
My 9 yr old son and I look forward to watching together! We LOVE this show! Hope it gets renewed!!
Love the show, it’s about time they focus on a well balance and proper training. Wish I can have a trainer and train like that. It motivates more and the result are outstanding. I think it’s great to see a support between everyone, I understand they are trying to play for money but at the same time, the real life you don’t compete for money. You should support each other and play fair. Hope it keeps playing cause I’ll be watching.
Love this show, i didn’t see it as sexist for only having male trainers, i really liked the dynamics of the couples. Possibly one day having a turnaround, all male contestants, all female trainers. All i can say is: as a reality show junkie, i’ve seen a lot of reality tv and this one is a winner. Thank you!
I do like this show with how it is based more on helping women get strong. It’s not the number on the scale. The trainers want to help build the confidence in these women to make them strong mentally as well. Love the show, hope it continues in a positive aspect.
Love the show! Society needs to support women to be strong and this show helps women learn how to be strong but take the power play and betrayal out of it and have the two lowest teams do the elimination round. Include older women to show that we can be strong and beautiful as well. I would love to audition for this show myself. Perhaps have a round of mother-daughters becoming strong together.
I agree with everything you said Charm. I’m 53 and would love to audition to show we can be strong too. I also think the two lowest should have the show down. I love the show.
It would be awesome to see women of all ages and not just the younger age group.
Love love this challenge show!! AMAZING!! Very inspirational!! Life is a challenge mentally, physically, and verbally… Life is full of road blocks and obstacles and it’s not just getting through them but how you maneuver your path trough and around them.. Strong isn’t just about muscle strength but also about mental strength.. Sometimes a strong mental outlook can push you through physically!! I feel this is what this show is about… Looking forward to more episodes.. 🙂
I am not interested in watching any further. I hold the fitness coaches to a certain standard. They should be setting the example, someone to look up to, not someone to cause disharmony. I am not a fan of trying to “take out” another team by deception, or trash talking. It is also why I won’t watch the other new fitness show starring John Cena. Great concept, but it isn’t okay to turn on your teammates. You build each other up, not down. Regarding this show..I personally feel, getting rid of a tough team is a disservice. You have eliminated… Read more »
Good show! If I was on your show it would save my life. Im ready for the challenge
Love the show!!
seems biased; what is this supposed to say to our young girls, that all men are fit and women are fat and women need to rely on these men to get fit?
I’m disappointed in Sly’s production. Should be an even mix of fit and nonfit men and women. Only male trainers? Get real NBC!!!!
I get what you are saying 10o% However, as a feminist, I did not get that feel from the show at all. It just started. I am sure they will switch to all female trainers too and mix it up. But, I happen to like the fact that these men are there to help the females..not in a condescending way, but in a genuine way. They are there to help. I think the show is great and I like the fact that men are helping the ladies. I see it in almost a completely opposite way.
was not a bad show so keep it going…maybe think about a show with a father daughter teams and the trainer???
After 1st airing I watched preview I recommended my wife to join next season, and or sometime to know she trying to get healthy, get fit after so much in her life and knowing she wants to be a better person, healthier, so here is the husband looking to find the next Strong competitor?
