There’s good news down in South Florida. A&E has renewed their freshman TV show, The Glades for a second season.
The Glades follows Jim Longworth (Matt Passmore), a Chicago detective moves to South Florida and takes a job with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Other series stars include Kiele Sanchez, Carlos Gomez, Uriah Shelton, Jordan Wall, Michelle Hurd, and Eric Wormsley.
The series has been a solid performer for cable channel A&E since it debuted on June 11th of this year. It’s been averaging more than three million viewers each week with about a third of those in the 18-49 target demographic.
A&E has ordered 13 installments for year two. Pre-production is expected to begin later this year with episodes airing on Sunday nights sometime in 2011. Season one is scheduled to finish airing on October 3rd.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear that the show will be back for season two? Is The Glades worth watching?
Update: Season two is expected to return Summer 2011.

Luv . Callie! Jim needs her! This show has a hook.
Got me just like Tony Soprano!
The scene is written. Hubby is now an informant and will most likely be killed by those he squealed on. I love the show and all the characters. I just wish it was on an hour earlier since I get up at 4:30 a.m.
I love the show. Waiting on season two
I love this show and have seen all the episodes. I must admit that I am disapointed Jim showed a lack of character by going against his words and not wanting to break up a family. They should have waited until the marriage problem was solved before acting on it. Plus it jumped the shark a bit quick no?
I like how the show has many twists and turns and how “Jim” figures out ‘who dunne it”.. Also the relationship between Jim and Callie is very intriguing.. The characters do have a good chemistry. What is also so interesting is that Matt Passmore is Austrlian. Good American accent on his part.
Glad to hear that the show will have a Season 2. Not surprised…
GREAT SHOW. Totally worth watching!!
I love the show, with all the programs out there this is a great new avenue..
You have to keep this episode in production, it’s one of my all time favorites- for a change. I love Jim (of course), and Callie, and hope they get it together SOON!
Thanks for listening!

My favorite show of the season. Witty and charming. Main characters have such a great chemistry. Writers have made this a wonderful summer series. I will miss it greatly until its second season sometime next Spring I hope.
I love the show. I am glad it is coming back. I am really surprised it has not been picked up by CBS, or NBC, ABC. I just have one question, is it crime drama, romance, or comedy, because it really does have all three. That is what makes it such a great show.
This is a fun and cleverly written show. They picked out a great cast and they mix well together. I look forward to them expanding more of the casts depth next season. The spouse and I were so happy to see Jim finally get the girl and then of course the twist happened! Can’t wait till next season starts!
GREAT SHOW one of the best on tv just the right mix of drama, romance, comedy. keep up the good work . You have a long time and loyal fan.
Love the show my very favorite can not wait for the second season
