Although available online beforehand, The Man in the High Castle officially premiered on Amazon Prime on November 20, 2015.
When asked by Indiewire if he has a second season planned out, series creator and writer Frank Spotnitz said, “It’s beginning to become very clear to me because we’ve written Episode 10, so I had to know before that was written where Season 2 was going to go. So I wouldn’t say I have it all worked out, but I have a lot of it.”
An adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s alternate history novel, this dystopian 1962 period drama asks: what if the Axis powers had won World War II? The cast of The Man in the High Castle includes: Alexa Davalos, Luke Kleintank, Rupert Evans, Cary-Hiroyuki Tarawa, Joel De La Fuente, Rufus Sewell, and DJ Qualls.
What do you think? Have you watched The Man in the High Castle TV series on Amazon Prime? Will you watch a second season?
By all means, yes. A great adaptation of Phillip’s book. Great acting and wonderful screenplay. The story behind is a reminder that how important the freedom is. How it feels when outsiders take the freedom and impose their will on the people belong the land. How painful is when the sons and daughters of the soil have to take marching orders from the occupiers….. ! I am anxiously waiting to watch the Season-II. I really hope the creators will keep the pace and will not transform the story into some cheap Si-Fi movies which rely on the computer generated images… Read more »
OMG what an incredible show. I love this alternative reality. Also im a totally a Joeliana fan i hope they end up together. Season 2 please!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeease!
The Man In The High Castle season 1 was excellent …really hope it’s renewed …great entertainment from Scott Free productions. MORE PLEASE.
I LOVED this series and was sad when the season was over.
This series is So Well done it immerses you into it…like a Great Novel! Which I know is based on the Philip K. Dick’s novel by the same name, only this story-line is BETTER!
I CAN’T WAIT for season two!!!
Have to have a Season 2!!! John Smith I’m in love
There are clues as to where this is going in episode 9 and 10. The Heisenberg device is subtly introduced in the script. I postulate that it will relate to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle as it applies to alternate universes. A related subject that can be researched is the principle of Schrödinger’s Cat which deals with a branching situation. One option is the cat is dead and the other alive. In all cases as can be evident and researched note that these are German theorists.
That’s a pretty wacky theory given that they are obviously referring to the atom bomb.
That said it would be more fun if your idea was what they were talking about and it would fit in with the plot.
You missed the most important part of the Cat experiment and that is that the Cat can simultaneously be alive and dead at the same time. Kind of the whole point.
Interesting idea, @Mkearns. Of course, in the real world, Heisenberg was the head of the German nuclear weapons program. In one take on his biography, he consciously slowed down nuclear arms development by pursuing dead ends and generally doing what he could to ensure that Germany did NOT develop a bomb. He ostensibly misled Hitler as to the viability of nuclear weapons and convinced the Nazis to put more efforts into other weaponry. Heisenberg’s other main biographer doesn’t seem to think that was true. But intriguingly, in biographies of Moe Berg, the major league catcher for the Cubs who happened… Read more »
I love your explanations Michael. Alternate history stories fascinate me. I agree that the many worlds theory fits better than what can be researched on Schrödinger’s Cat. Basically I love the simplest explanations advanced quantum physics. Looking at advanced wave functional equations of The HUP leaves me and I suspect most readers in the dust. I picked up some connective ideas by keying in HUP + alternate universes. I have posted later about the Trade ministers scanning of the Newspaper headline in episode 10 about the Cuban Missile Crisis which brings the focus of nuclear holocaust front and center. Perhaps… Read more »
Thank you.
Can’t wait till 2nd season, this is a great show
I would love to see the decision point at which this reality branched from the original. Perhaps the decision to invade England and forgo the Soviet Union for later, etc. There are clues in the script as to how the minister accomplished the transition. A fine series.
It’s pretty well outlined in the book, and there’s a scene in the series that alludes to the initial hairpin point turn that would begin (most of) the alternate series of events, and it’s actually not an alternate decision that occurs within the timeline of World War II as we know it. In the scene where Robert is explaining to Frank about how much money they could make creating knock-off Americana antiques, he pulls out the two zippo lighters and explains how one of them had been on FDR’s person when he was assassinated. In the book, this doesn’t occur… Read more »

Good comments Christopher. I wonder where the dividing line would be on the other side of the world. Perhaps Japan east of the Ural Mountains holding most of Siberia and Germany in the west with the Urals and India being a neutral zone. As to Canada adapting to being isolated from totalitarianism, it is difficult to see how it would play out on a world scale. It might be possible however. Sweden and Switzerland adapted in the European theatre during the Maximum Nazi expansion in reality. Sweden had to allow Nazi troops to pass through Norbotten state in Lapland to… Read more »
Loved it. Watch all ten on amazon prime. 2nd season is a must.
I was thrilled by the idea or what if, knowing what I already knew about the history of WII. In between episodes I found myself thinking this must be an alternate reality where someone from or plane has crossed over between the two. I was blown away by the ending and left with some many questions that there must be a season 2. Why does Tarawa’s character open his eyes and things have changed and yet a smile at this reality. Maybe he is the one able through his mediatation to move between AU’s, always playing himself. Brilliant. Wish I’d… Read more »
Would love a second season. I actually find the politics of it much more intriguing than the “who does Juliana really love” story. What will John Smith do about his son? Will Japan make the bomb? Will Juliana ever go back to the Akido dojo? Who is the man in the high castle? I honestly could do without Joe, he I love Frank and Joe
LOL – I mean I love John Smith!
Episode 10 clearly shows us the Man in the High Castle
The man in the high castle is Hitler, I think.
I love this show!! It’s so interesting!! I will definitely watch season 2! There must be another season, I will be waiting, and counting down the days for another season. I love this show, it’s the best.
Loved it too…want a second season!
THERE MUST BE A SEASON 2!! I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!! PLEASE MAKE A SEASON 2!! I LOVE THIS SHOW!! SO INTERESTING!!
Loved it. will be sad if there is not another season!
I loved this series and would absolutely watch another season without hesitation. I didn’t find it at all uneven and hope Amazon makes the next season. Great cast, great acting, great writing, wonderfully shot.
I agree I watched the first season in two days. If you enjoy alternate reality shows this is definitely for you.
