A live-action Amazon superhero comedy based on the Ben Edlund comic, The Tick stars Peter Serafinowicz, Griffin Newman, Valorie Curry, Brendan Hines, Yara Martinez, Scott Speiser, and Jackie Earle Haley. The story unfolds in place in a world where superheroes have been real for many many years and follows a nervous accountant, Arthur Everest (Newman), and a strange (sometimes clueless) blue superhero named The Tick (Serafinowicz). Together, they begin an adventure that’s filled with crazy super villains, dangerous vigilantes, and freakish superheroes.

Fantastic show – for me, season two started off slow but then got better than the first awesome season. Totally unfair to cancel this – excellent casting and writing. My only hope is that it finds a new home, since Amazon evidently won’t.

This season was a pleasure from start to finish. I loved the first season and didn’t think it could be topped, but this whole season was just a love letter to Tick fans everywhere. It was awkward and hilarious, had tons of suspense and unexpected (and expected) twists and was entertaining on many levels. It was also chock-ful of messages that were, ultimately, reaffirming while being both true and a little hokey—the sanctity of motherhood, believing in yourself, the power of friendship, the possibility of redemption.
