Cougar Town: Season Three Debuts February 14th

cougar town season threeAs predicted, ABC quickly cancelled Work It and is now giving that sitcom’s Tuesday timeslot to Cougar Town. Season three kicks off on Valentine’s Day at 8:30pm.

Last November, ABC cut Cougar Town’s season order from 22 episodes down to 15 because they’d planned to bring it back in the spring. There’s no word if this scheduling move will mean that the alphabet network will restore part of their original installment order.

Until Cougar Town returns, the 8:30pm timeslot will be filled by Last Man Standing reruns. ABC recently ordered two more episodes of the Tim Allen comedy, bringing the season total to 24 installments.

Here’s the press release from ABC that announces Cougar Town’s return:

Critic and Fan Favorite Joins the ABC Tuesday Comedy Block, Beginning February 14

“Ain’t Love Strange” – Jules is miffed when Grayson (who has an ulterior motive) calls her “predictable”; Ellie frets that little Stan is turning into a “devil child,” or even worse, could grow up to be like Laurie; and Travis likes his new off campus housing, until Bobby tries to convince him to take dog Travis in, on the Third-Season premiere of “Cougar Town,” TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Cougar Town” stars Courteney Cox as Jules, Christa Miller as Ellie, Busy Philipps as Laurie, Dan Byrd as Travis, Josh Hopkins as Grayson, Ian Gomez as Andy and Brian Van Holt as Bobby.

Guest stars include Robert Clendenin as Tom, Shawn Parikh as Sig and Sawyer Ever as Little Stan.

“Ain’t Love Strange” was written and directed by Bill Lawrence.

What do you think? Are you glad to hear Cougar Town is returning? Do you think ABC will order more episodes?

Yes! Finally!!!! ABC, just give the fans what they want….more Penny Can! (maybe there’s a cow bell in the penny can)

Cougar Town seems to be ABC’s Rules of Engagement. When the bad shows get cancelled, it gets called up. ABC would have been smarter to just put Cougar Town on the schedule and not subject us to Work It or the other cancelled shows.
