Rules of Engagement: Season Seven Ratings

The seventh season of Rules of Engagement typically airs Monday nights at 8:30pm on the CBS network. The cast once again features Bianca Kajlich, David Spade, Megyn Price, Oliver Hudson, Patrick Warburton, and Adhir Kalyan.

Below are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Rules of Engagement is going to be cancelled or renewed for season eight.

Final season averages: 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.03 million total viewers.

Episode 07-13: Monday, 05/20/13 (series finale)
1.8 in the demo (-14% change) with 6.25 million (-7% change).
Season averages: 2.31 in the demo with 7.03 million.

UPDATE: Rules has been cancelled after seven seasons and 100 episodes.

Episode 07-12: Monday, 05/06/13
2.1 in the demo (0% change) with 6.74 million (+9% change).
Season averages: 2.35 in the demo with 7.09 million.

Episode 07-11: Monday, 04/29/13
2.1 in the demo (+31% change) with 6.21 million (+22% change).
Season averages: 2.37 in the demo with 7.12 million.

Episode 07-10: Monday, 04/22/13
1.6 in the demo (-24% change) with 5.11 million (-16% change).
Season averages: 2.40 in the demo with 7.21 million.

Episode 07-09: Monday, 04/15/13
2.1 in the demo (-5% change) with 6.11 million (-3% change).

3.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.40 million total viewers.
Season averages: 3.10 in the demo with 9.40 million.

Compared to Partners, this was a big improvement for CBS. Season-to-season however, Rules was down by 14% in the demo (vs a 3.6 rating) and 18% in viewers (vs 11.45 million).


Reference point: The 2011-12 season averaged a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.47 million viewers.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

Compared to some of the crap that ended up being cancelled, “Rules” is very good. IMHO if it got a steady airing in a consistent time slot the ratings would most likely go up. The programmers at CBS are not doing a very good job when it comes to selecting sitcoms. They should appreciate “Rules” as the good, steady performer it is and build around it.

I love this show! I know they tied up the loose ends, but I’m hoping another station will take it. It is a charming and funny series!

I hope they renew Rules of Engagement! It to me is one of the funniest shows on television. I laugh through the whole show. My wife and I are even watching the series on netflix and laughing alot. We ar huge fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!
