Trisha, The Test, Serch: Daytime Shows Cancelled

trisha goddard canceledTHR reports that daytime talk shows Trisha and The Test have both been cancelled. In addition, MC Serch’s test series Serch won’t be moving forward.

NBCUniversal has confirmed that Trisha, which stars British talk show host Trisha Goddard, is being cancelled after two seasons. In a statement, the studio said, “Trisha is a great talent and we recognize and are grateful for all of the hard work that Trisha and the production staff have put in to the show for the past two seasons.”

Meanwhile, CBS Television Distribution wouldn’t comment on the cancellation of The Test, a conflict resolution talk show, but sources confirmed the bad news. Hosted by Kirk Fox, it premiered last September but never caught on. Both Trisha and The Test have averaged a 0.6 rating this season.

Serch had a three week test-run on Tribune stations in New York, Los Angeles, and other markets. It averaged a 1.0 rating and showed some signs of growth but CBS has opted not to move forward with a national rollout.

What do you think? Will you miss any of these daytime shows?

Will miss The Trisha Goddard show. She may have been labelled “trash tv,” but I never thought she was. She put people in the wrong in their place.

I’m not too mad about Trish and Kirk, but I will miss Serch. I liked his show, and I feel he was very authentic and real. It wasn’t full of obvious scripted reality like Jerry Springer with all the drama, fighting, and rachettness. Serch didn’t do shenanigans he did real life. I will miss him, pls bring the show back!!!

The Test is the best one that’s on television. Those other talk shows are the trashy ones.

Two trash programs blown from the spotlight! That’s a reason to celebrate. Sadly the time slot will likely be filled with two more absent minded garbage programs. My gosh just think what would happen if educational programs were put in that time slot. The crack mommies and welfare receivers would certainly protest. That’s why Maury, Jerry, “Judge” Judy and the rest of her insipid ilk are staying put. Sadly too many people value trash TV shows.

I’m never quite sure who the daytime audience is. Many people work and of those who are home, many are quite busy keeping the homestead together they don’t have time for TV. And most shows aren’t built for the retired set. So who is left?

Not at all surprised about The Test. It’s a stupid show. I knew it wouldn’t last.
