Is American Crime Story coming back for a second season? Buzzfeed News reporter Jarett Wieselman recently posted a tweet suggesting FX has officially renewed the anthology drama.
Season one of the series covered the O.J. Simpson murder trial and starred Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta, David Schwimmer, and Sarah Paulson. The season ended in April.
Though FX has not confirmed a second season, network chief John Landgraf has revealed plans for season two. Earlier, he said the new season will explore the “pretty serious crimes that took place in and around Katrina.”
He added that the story of Hurricane Katrina offers the opportunity to tell a “big, epic story” about disaster on a political and human scale. Producer Ryan Murphy has also confirmed season two will focus on Katrina.
Wieselman says the season, titled Katrina: American Crime Story, already has a poster:
