Battlestar Galactica fans were treated to a surprise at Comic-Con last week. Deadline reports the cast of the Syfy TV show reunited and paid tribute to co-star Richard Hatch.
Hatch, who passed away in February, played Tom Zarek on the reboot, which follows the surviving humans of the Twelve Colonies of Man as they search the galaxy for the fabled 13th colony — Earth. Notably, he also played Captain Apollo on the original 1970s Battlestar Galactica series.
At Comic-Con, fans were shown a video greeting from star Edward James Olmos, who was absent from the panel:
I wish I could be there in person but I’m Spain. You are with the best of the best. … All the actors on the stage are my family. … Thank you to you the fan base, you’ve always been there for us.”
The Battlestar Galactica panel included executive producers Ronald D. Moore and in addition to cast members Tricia Helfer, Mary McDonnell, Michael Trucco, Tahmoh Penikett, and Grace Park.
