In what will likely go down as the surprise renewal of the season, The CW has ordered a third season of ratings-challenged Beauty and the Beast. The show has performed poorly this season and was even yanked off the schedule a few months ago.
On Beauty and the Beast, a beautiful detective (Kristin Kreuk), navigates her evolving relationship with a handsome doctor (Jay Ryan) who becomes a terrifying beast. Others in the cast are Austin Basis, Brian White, Max Brown, and Nina Lisandrello.
The show is the network’s second-lowest rated series of the season, attracting an average of a 0.2 demo rating and just 770,000 weekly viewers. The show was put on hiatus in March with the remaining six episodes of season two slated to air this summer, beginning June 2nd.
Word is that the season three renewal is a result of strong international sales for CBS (which co-owns the network).

Just glad the network listenend to the international viewers clamor. By the way US is just a fraction and im still wondering why batb has less viewers in this region. Cheers beasties !!!!!!

Beauty and the beast got a short season 3 with 13 episodes and there wont be a fourth season at all

Beauty and the beast got a full season 3 my guess is that the fourth season will get a full season but not a final short season

I’m very glad and excited that they have decided to give the viewers what they want and renew B&TB for a third season. It has renewed my faith in the CW and CBS Networks, because they have decided that there are more viewers out there watching, than these stupid poles indicated. This rating system was put in a long time ago and is being protected by rich investors. I believe that’s their motivation for keeping this outdated polling system and it’s more important to them than finding out what the real world is watching. A lot of really good shows… Read more »
