In what will likely go down as the surprise renewal of the season, The CW has ordered a third season of ratings-challenged Beauty and the Beast. The show has performed poorly this season and was even yanked off the schedule a few months ago.
On Beauty and the Beast, a beautiful detective (Kristin Kreuk), navigates her evolving relationship with a handsome doctor (Jay Ryan) who becomes a terrifying beast. Others in the cast are Austin Basis, Brian White, Max Brown, and Nina Lisandrello.
The show is the network’s second-lowest rated series of the season, attracting an average of a 0.2 demo rating and just 770,000 weekly viewers. The show was put on hiatus in March with the remaining six episodes of season two slated to air this summer, beginning June 2nd.
Word is that the season three renewal is a result of strong international sales for CBS (which co-owns the network).

KEEP BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!!! Not sure how these ratings are taken. I know that people I come in contact with, love this show as much as I do. There have been other shows that this same situation has played out the same way. Why doesn’t the network cater to it’s viewers and let them respond to whether the station should renew the show or not? After all WE ARE YOUR VIEWERS!!!
OMG!!! I Love this show!!!! Please do not cancel it. I haven,t loved anything so much since Moonlight from 2008. When networks get a great show they just let it go. Can,t wait for season 3!!!!!! Season 4!!!!!!!!!! Season 5!!!!!!! Just keep it going
Please don’t take this show off I Love this show it is great. I look forward to watching this show every time it comes on I even watch the reruns .There’s not many good shows on anymore. When y all finely get good shows on you take them off. I loved the old beauty an the beast. now there is one on just as good so please, please don’t take this one off. Let us people that like good shows see them.

YEAH!!! I love this show. It is the only show I watch on TV that is not reality based. There needs to be more shows like Beauty and the Beast and Smallville…. stories that take folks out of this ugly world into beautiful places and love stories…
