The Case Of has sparked a case of its own. Deadline reports JonBenét Ramsey’s brother is suing CBS for $750 million over the recent true crime series.
Season one of the docuseries re-examined the unsolved 1996 murder of six-year-old beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey. The series, which premiered on September 18th, reunited the case’s original investigators and featured testimonials from new experts.
Ramsey’s older brother, Burke, is suing CBS, production company Critical Content, and consultants involved with the show for alleging that he was the killer. He is reportedly seeking “$250M in compensatory damages and twice that in punitive damages,” saying the series’ conclusion was “based on a compilation of lies, half-truths, manufactured information, and the intentional omission and avoidance of truthful information about the murder of JonBenét Ramsey.”
CBS has not released a statement about the lawsuit.
What do you think? Did you watch The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey? Do you agree with the show’s conclusion?
I watched it and thought it was done exceptionally well. Even his own interviews, words and behaviors seem to implicate him. There’s definitely something to the idea this brother did it and the parents covered it up. Hopefully investigators will not stop until they have someone indicted
