New Original Primetime Series Debuts Sunday, August 14 on Hallmark Channel
Please be advised that Hallmark Channel’s newest original primetime series ‘CHESAPEAKE SHORES’ will premiere on Sunday, August 14 (9pm ET/PT, 8C). Based on the novels of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods, the series stars Jesse Metcalfe (“Dallas“), Meghan Ory (“Once Upon A Time“), Golden Globe(R) nominee Treat Williams (“Everwood,” “Hair”) and Academy Award(R) nominee Diane Ladd (“Wild At Heart”).
The multi-generational family drama follows Abby O’Brien (Ory), a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother to twin daughters, who makes a trip from New York City to her hometown of Chesapeake Shores. Her visit home brings Abby face to face with her past, including her high school sweetheart Trace (Metcalfe), her uncompromising father Mick (Williams) and her esteemed grandmother Nell (Ladd). Abby realizes the toll her career has taken on her ability to be a hands-on mother to her daughters, and considers a permanent move to Chesapeake Shores.
What do you think? How do you like the sound of the Chesapeake Shores TV show? Do you plan to check out the first season on Hallmark Channel? Tell us.
I liked the first preview. However, after totally committing and loving Cedar Cove, I am wondering if this will be cancelled too after I get into watching it?
Agree with Ken’s comments I grew up in Va/Md area the scenery is definitely not true to the mid Atlantic coastline & if the actors were eating blue crabs instead of snow crabs it would be much more appropriate. Will Not watch the series. Very disappointed in this Hallmark effort!!
I stopped watching halfway through..what a load of rot. If i had to watch the character, Abby, play with her hair one more time, i would have thrown something at the TV. When you compare it to Cedar Cove, this show does not even come near – and that show was likable at best.
Very disappointed. Scenery not even close to MD or VA Chesapeake geography and NOBODY eats snow crabs or any crab the way shown. No mention of other towns except Baltimore. Hokey if you know the Bay at all.
Looked at first episode. Will not look at anymore. People from the area look at it for familiarity not fake scenery. Bread at a table with snow crab legs and the snow crabs are not Chesapeake food.
Loved this first episode. Beautiful scenery and believable characters. Will record every show!
Love it so far… how many episodes will there be in this series?
I am from the Chesapeake bay and this show had nothing whatsoever to do with it. Don’t they do their research? Snow crab; in a bowl? Really? Anyone in Maryland knows it is Blue Crab or nothing. What an insult to the Chesapeake! The scenery is not even close. I will not be watching.
They cancelled Cedar Cove for this nonsense.
Even my 25 year old daughter found it extremely boring. We will not be watching!
Watched the show last night. Have read all the books in the series. Not too bad, however ” eating crabs” was beyond laughable. House was too Italian villa not a “shore” place but as a said not too bad but lose the king crabs.
LOVE THE NEW SHOW….HOPE IT LAST A VERY LONG TIME..
love the first show, will continue to watch the series
I live on the lower eastern shore. Disappointed not filmed here yet noticed Maryland tags on the vehicle in the show
Loved the books and have been waiting for the series to start. Love Jesse Metcalf and think the casting of Mick and Nell is perfect. Hope the series is as good as the books.
Looking forward to seeing this new series. I loved Cedar Cove and wish that Hallmark would do one more season to tie it up for the fans.
Me to just one more season to tie up the loose ends
