I love the new series and hope it stays around for a long time, the characters are interesting and quite realistic. Thank you Hallmark for supporting such a “wholesome” show, where other channels promote what they refer to as reality shows there are people who enjoy normal programming. I noticed that some of the out door shots were done in Steveston, BC great choice as a lot of other movies also filmed there and referred to it as a city in the USA. It makes me proud to see parts of a show shot in the greater Vancouver area, my… Read more »
I’m loving the new series. It is sad that other commenters are focused on the location. Where is their imagination. The location is beautiful. The storyline bri ‘s in so much reality to the struggles of a lot of middle class families. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
It doesnr mayter whete it was filmed its a series not a true story .i liked it will continue to watch it
Research MD seafood, language and lore and add to the show for realism.
I lived on the Chesapeake Bay for 35 years and knew immediately from the scenery that the filming was nowhere near the Chesapeake Bay. Not only that, people in Marland don’t say they are going to,have “fresh” crabs for dinner. And when there are crabs for dinner they are steamed or made into crab cakes or crab soup, certainly NOT Alaskan king crab legs passed around the table. The research for the story is very poor.
The story line seems very interesting.
I watched the first two episodes back to back. I am kind of confused. … in the first episode the guy friend had a long haired dog, they father built the b&b 40 years ago, the girls called their grandmother grandma. In the second episode the guy friend has a German Shepard, the house was built 35 years ago and the girlscalled their grandmother mimi. I’m not from around there so I thought the scenery was beautiful.
Couldn’t wait to see the first show and I love it. The scenery is beautiful (don’t care where it is filmed, that’s not what the show is about), the chemistry between actors is great. I just love it. Please don’t cancel it like you did Cedar Cove which was also a great show. Keep up the good work Hallmark.
Very disappointed as to where the show is filmed having lived on the eastern shore of Md. On the Chesapeake bay , I was looking forward to seeing the show. Vancouver island is about as far from the Bay as possible. The terrain is not anything like the Bay and definitely not the climate. A big farse as far as I am concerned
It seams like a good show but I do not like waiting for next year to start the next season you had a good series in cedar cove but it was lost waiting a year a for the next season you should never have cancelled it it was a great show
Finally a channel that brings to tv shows that family can enjoy love this show and The cast, wow great please hallmark don’t cancel this one
Loved it, so nice to see a family show again. Reading the negative remarks, I don’t understand what some people like. I love family shows!!!!
I grew up on Chesapeake Bay in Southern Maryland. This show is nothing like the real thing. Too bad no realism. However, since Hallmark cancelled one of my fav shows, Cedar Cove, I will continue to watch Chesapeake Shores to see where it goes.
I love this series, don’t want it to end. When will it end?
My husband and I were watching trying to pinpoint where they shot this. We got so confused that we decided to look it up.it was shot in Vancouver Island. What an insult. If you’re going make a show based off the shores of the Chesapeake bay how about actually using the Chesapeake bay for your scenery. On top of that “getting fresh crabs” there is no way to get fresh snow crabs from the Chesapeake. Blue all the way. Hallmark, you missed the mark. Terrible. Just terrible.
what a disappointment to replace Cedar Cove with Chesapeake shores. Chemistry between the actress/actors are not there. To top it all, the scenery used is not as uplifting as Cedar Cove!
