Last week, I reported that NBC had ordered one more episode of Chicago Fire, bringing the season total to 23. Well, they’ve now ordered another additional episode so fans will now get 24 installments.
The new drama got off to a mediocre start last October and then dropped in subsequent weeks, falling as low as a 1.4 demo rating with 4.87 million total viewers in December.
It looked like Chicago Fire might be headed for cancellation but, in 2013, the ratings have really turned around. The first episode of 2013 drew a 2.4 rating with 8.54 million, series highs in both categories. That doesn’t happen very often.
While the rest of the episodes this year haven’t done quite as well, it’s becoming one of the few bright spots on NBC’s schedule.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear that there’s yet another new episode on the way?
I love it,its is as close to the real as you can get.
love this. Show Chicago Fire. Keep it on !!
I am thrilled that there’s going to be another episode, I just hop they keep them coming!
Loved this show from day 1, good storylines, all likeable characters. I’m really disgusted that there are so many reruns….this is probably NBC’s best show, definitely a keeper, don’t change a thing!
