A network that has plenty of cop and legal TV shows, CBS hasn’t had a successful medical drama in quite awhile. Will Code Black become a ratings success or a flop? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Code Black takes place in an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressures on its staff. The cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Raza Jaffrey, Bonnie Somerville, Melanie Chandra, William Allen Young, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, and Luis Guzman.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/24 update: Now that the season’s wrapping up, should Code Black return for a second season?
2/25 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please renew Code Black for a second season!
Renew Code Black, PLEASE! There hasn’t been a good medical show on TV since ER. Grey’s Anatomy came close for several seasons, then it just turned into a prime time soap opera.
I love it also. However I am not in the 18-49 bracket – but us old people can count also. I still buy things which is why they like the 18-49 group. Actually I buy more now since I can afford it with the kids gone. Ha.
I love it…..and I am in the 18-49 bracket. Keep it!
I LOVE Code Black!! Realistic feelings between characters. How about demographics of older people. We watch TV!! We spend money!! So we aren’t 18-49. We count!!
Code Black needs to be renewed. Think before discontinuing. There are other channels & other advertisers to go spend my money with.
Absolutely the best medical drama on television. Love the story lines and the actors are fabulous! My favorite…
Harry Ford!!!
Code Black is the best Medical Drama I have seen in a while. Excellent writing and actors. I look forward to watching it and always record it for back up.
Love code black and I am sure there are plenty of us who are not counted!! Please save this show as it was hell without having it to look forward to during the weeks it was off through the holidays! We refused to watch CBS until it came back on and that was hard to do, but this show means that much!
Please! Please! Please! Definitely should be renewed! Love CODEBLACK!!!! Love the cast! Love Dr. Hudson!!! Love! Love! Love!!!
Love this show! Definitely should be renewed.
Code Black should ABSOLUTELY be renewed! Quality drama, best medical drama in a long while. Stop cancelling good shows!
This show is fantastic, they would be crazy to take this off the air!
CODE BLACK SHOULD CONTINUE ……..IT’S THE BEST HOSPITAL DRAMA I’VE SEEN IN A VERY LONG TIME………….LAST ONE WAS ER
I AGREE with you, this is one of the best new shows that has come on, it seems like everytime you get into a good show they take it off, please leave this show on
