Here are the details:
TNT Renews Real-Life Crime Series Cold Justice for Third Season
Show Finds Strong Fan Base on Friday Nights, with Big Audience Growth
TNT is ready to crack more unsolved cases as it orders a third season of its fascinating real-life crime series Cold Justice. The series, which recently reached the middle of its second season, has become a Friday night hit for TNT, delivering strong demo growth compared to season one. TNT’s renewal includes 10 episodes slated for the series’ third season. Season 2 of Cold Justice is currently airing Fridays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). Season three is slated for early 2015 and will feature both new states and types of cases never seen on the show before.
Cold Justice follows former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and former crime-scene investigator Yolanda McClary as they travel to small towns around the country in order to look into murder cases that have lingered for years without answers or closure. Since the premiere of Cold Justice last September, Siegler and McClary have assisted local law enforcement in securing a total of 15 arrests, eight criminal indictments, four confessions, two guilty pleas and a 22-year prison sentence.
Cold Justice has averaged 2.3 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery so far this summer, a remarkable +24% increase over the show’s winter episodes. In key demos, Cold Justice is averaging 912,000 adults 25-54 (+12% vs. winter) and 676,000 adults 18-49. The show has found a solid fan base in its Friday night timeslot, growing its Live + Same Day demo deliveries by +13% among adults 18-49 and +4% among adults 25-54, compared to season one.
Cold Justice is produced for TNT by Wolf Reality and Magical Elves, with Emmy® winners Dick Wolf (Law & Order, Chicago Fire), Dan Cutforth & Jane Lipsitz (Top Chef, Time of Death) and Tom Thayer (Hitchcock, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee), serving as executive producers.
What do you think? Have you been watching this show? Glad it’s coming back?
Yes, I love this show, it so great to watch and learn how really go over and review the cases, and try to get justice for the families. It also , helps others understand how the process works and why sometimes it takes long time . It also nice to see the women really care about what they are doing. Hope it continues.
Finally – a reality show with intelligent people!
These ladies are the real thing, they know what they’re doing and bring closure to these families. Great show!
Very good show. These two dedicated crime solvers are a shot-in-the-arm for those who have lost their loved ones to unsolved crimes. We should have more of these girls doing this type of work.
God bless you Kelly and Yolanda!
Love this show. It brings closure to so many people that have lost loved ones.
I LOVE this show! From the first episode, I was captivated by the humanity of the protagonists. Their real concern for the lives that have been so cruelly touched by these unsolved cases is palpable. They are smart, caring, and persistent. What terrific role models for young women and what advocates for justice they are! Thank you for doing what you do.
We love Cold Justse tv show. We love the evidence collected with each case. The person brought to justice.. Although hurts. Family, when murder involved. Brings closure and never hurt or murder anyone again. We love it. Thanks bringing it back.
I love the show. This third season came to Fort Wayne to take on my friend and her daughter’s murders. Can’t wait to see the show and the outcome . Finally someone can provide some answers and closure for many families. Great job well done and cudos to all the staff on the show.
I really enjoy the show.
Do more episodes.
Love this show! Bring it back!
I can not believe the number of gullible people who actually watch this kind of garbage. This show is not about justice. It is about how stupid can the show make actual law enforcement look. These two women swoop into town and in two weeks believe they know it all and have solved the case and then leave the town and local police department to pick of the pieces of the lives these women have destroyed and the people’s reputations that have been destroyed. This so called reality show should never aired in the first place. Will they continue after… Read more »
Wow bitter are we. You don’t like the show. Don’t watch it. Don’t have to be rude to others who enjoy it
Sometimes they don’t get the case closed, it depends on the DA, who isn’t pushing for an indicment. Some DA’s would rather get a plea bargain rather than to test their mettle. These fine ladies go in after a cold case and see it with fresh eyes, they also have a couple of experienced investigators who look for holes in the case. It’s not always easy, but they’ve got a pretty good track record in solving quite a few. So Tina, could you do what they do? It takes a certain kind of individual to pour over a ton of… Read more »
