NBC has made a schedule change for the final Sunday of May sweeps, May 18th. The network has replaced Crisis and Believe with an encore of The Women of SNL.
While the Sunday night dramas haven’t been officially cancelled yet, they surely will be. Being pulled from the schedule during the sweeps period — replaced by a rerun of a clipshow, no less — is a very bad sign. The move isn’t a surprise though. Both Crisis and Believe have been performing terribly in the ratings.
Crisis is averaging a meager 1.1 in the 18-49 demographic with 4.48 million viewers. Believe is averaging a 1.3 in the demo with 5.45 million. Both shows drew a 1.0 in the demo this past Sunday and have each dropped below a ratings point in the past few weeks.
Both shows were already off the schedule this Sunday and are now expected to return on Sunday, May 25th. They each have 13 episodes in their respective seasons. Eight episodes of Crisis and nine episodes of Believe have aired so far.
Hopefully NBC will run all of the episodes. Hoepfully the finales will cap the series in satisfying ways. Unless there’s some kind of miracle, neither of these shows will be returning for a second season.
What do you think? If you were running the network, would you cancel both of these shows? Do you think one is better than the other?
N.B.C. Believe and Crises are the Best shows on tv and they deserve a chance…the actors/actress are amazing . They put you in the story and you look forward to the next episode …..please reconsider ..
They should show the remaining episodes of CRISIS. reality show suck and I never watch them other than Anazing Race! Smarten up NBC,
I love “Believe” and I agree with other commenters, I hate it when you put out a good show, make the audience fall in love with the characters and then cancel it. I watch the shows and also have it set to record automatically so I can watch it again!
Give believe and crisis a chance we watch this every week with our family I’m tired of getting hooked on a show and then it gets cancelled
Very little in the way of scripted shows sees to survive anymore, but for ‘reality’ tv shows that won’t go away. I loathe reality TV.
if the cancel a show at least make sure the last episodes finish the story!! Hate watching something that ends up getting cancelled and the last episodes keeps you hanging!! I NEED CLOSURE!!!!
If Believe is cancelled I’ll be canceling NBC. Really tired of watching shows, getting to know characters, to have them replaced with drivel.
I THINK NBC “OWES” IT TO THEIR VIEWERS TO AIR “ALL” OF THE EPISODES – FINISH WHAT YOU START – DON’T DRAW VIEWERS IN – GET THEM HOOKED – AND THEN “WRITE US OFF” ! AND THEN YOU (NBC) EXPECT THE VIEWERS TO BE “FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS” TO YOUR NETWORK! WELL, GET REAL AND GET A LIFE – PEOPLE ARE SICK OF BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF!! YES, YOU MAY END UP WITH “NO RATINGS” – BUT GUESS WHAT – IF “EVERYBODY” QUITS WATCHING “YOUR NETWORK” – THEN “YOU WILL BE TOTALLY OFF THE AIR YOURSELVES” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am upset that Believe is being cancelled. It is a really good show for the whole family to watch. If it wasn’t put in the same time slot as shows that already have a following, it would have a really good chance of making ratings. I know that Resurrection is a new show, but it is between two highly followed shows. I wish you would give this show another chance. The story line and acting is very good. DON’T CANCEL
I agree, and I am sure you don’t want your family watching any of the ‘reality’ TV garbage. I’m going to miss Believe.
Love the show Believe. When we can’t watch it I DVR it, please don’t cancel, there are so few shows that we watch as a family and all 4 of my kids enjoy this!
I love both shows Crisis gets better and better, I have quit watching NBC,CBS and watch cable, because they can’t keep the hood shows on
What a shame I love this show they put it on the wrong time slot and should give it more time to build a following.
Yeah, I’d cancel them both. I watch both, but they’ve not fulfilled the promise of the first episodes which were engaging. Now, they’re rote formulae.
Are you serious? I love believe—it is a very well done show!
There is nothing on TV with the quality! This is the first show in YEARS that I actually will tune in and watch!
Why is it that the good shows are always cancelled, and we’re left with this reality show trash?
Come on NBC….neither show has been given a real chance. Crisis is so good & every wk. it gets better. Believe is a good show with good acting. Why do you people cut the ropes so quickly. Crisis leaves you on the edge of your seat every wk.
