If you thought Cruel Intentions lived up to its title, wait for NBC’s new reboot. Sarah Michelle Gellar recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the network’s upcoming sequel series.
Gellar played Kathryn Merteuil in the original 1999 film, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe.
The reboot will take place 15 years after the events of the film, following the son of Annette (Witherspoon) and Sebastian (Phillippe). Peter Gallagher, Kate Levering, and Gellar will star in the series.
When asked about the reboot, Gellar said it was “really unique”:
It’s 17 years later and we didn’t tell the story until we had a great story to tell. I think we have something really unique and really different.”
She added that the series will be “better, badder,” and “bitchier” than the film.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the Cruel Intentions movie? Will you watch NBC’s reboot series?
