Dead of Summer premiered on Freeform this week, and the men behind the scenes have been teasing what they have planned for the new series. The series stars Elizabeth Mitchell.
Adam Horowitz, Edward Kitsis and Ian Goldberg have planned this series to be an anthology type series similar to American Horror Story on FX. That means the mystery of this series will be solved by the end of season one. Season two of the series will take place in a different year.
Collider shared the following about the plan:
“They’re taking an anthology approach to the show, with each season being a different year at camp, and the 10-episode structure has worked to their advantage in telling a very streamlined, close-ended story. For example, Season 1 is 1989, and Season 2 may be 1970, and there may also be links between the characters. The mythology will be spread out over five seasons, but every season will have a beginning, middle and end.”
This means each year will have its own story. Did you watch the series premiere of Dead of Summer? Do you plan to keep watching? Tell us what you think.
This was an amazing show that kept you on the edge of your seat. I would love to see upcoming seasons and see how everything ties in together! Amazing show!
Absolutely loved this show!!! I’m really upset they killed off basically EVERYONE and only left 3 characters left???? I hope there will be a 2nd season but it’s going to be hard with only 3 previous characters.
The only reason I’m not crying is because Drew and Blair were my favorite characters and I shipped them. I’m so happy they get together omg I dont even care if 90% of the cast died
PLEASE make a season 2!!!!! I’m 21 and my boyfriend is 23 and we LOVE it!!! Please please please
Excellent news. Something to look forward to each season instead of one continuing drama. I’m super excited !
I thought this season was insane to have Amy turn out as a satan worshiper but killing off Deb was what pissed me off because Amy was supposed to make Deb crazy with her!!!
I just finished watching the whole season on HULU n I truly enjoyed the first season. I am hoping to see season 2 n look forward to it!
How did you watch the whole season when the final show hasn’t aired yet?
can’t wait to see what’s NEXT! LOVE THIS SHOW EGDE OF YOUR SEAT CHILLER!!!!!!!!!!
I love this series! I think the story line is clever. Makes me think of an original storyline!
Love the show i till everyone to watch it
Great show!! Keep this show going. Love the story line and suspense. Brings me back to my teen years watching scary movies and now my teen son and I watch every week with our popcorn.. some of the only time he will spend with me ☺
Such an amazing show. I didn’t think it was going to be as good as it is. Highly recommend it to anybody who likes good scares and classic horror movies!
Hope your viewer #s are up there! Critics flat wrong reviewing your show. Disagree totally w/ assertion about being on the new “family” channel: if the channel only offers pablum and baby food, I know channel will fail, and the shows too! Moderate by time slots like you’re doing; and don’t pay any attention to the “Anonymous” posters: they probably only drink “Tea”. Maybe a little Kool-Aid, if they’re feeling frisky. Their kids will not be well-rounded and will feel left out when around the upper-middle-school to high school water coolers, to borrow an adultish euphemism. And I speak as… Read more »
I think this show is very interesting and has a lot of appeal to it and I would really like it to have more than one season, unlike Greg. I would have to say that there was a reason why Freeform is the new name for ABC Family so kids don’t watch all the shows. A kid should definitely not watch this but a parent shouldn’t let them
I agree, very interesting; it’s even given me a start/startle or two, and more than a few goose-bumps! It’s a much better show than critics have said/rated it. Don’t know viewer numbers, but hope it makes it through arc of the 5 seasons creators have on their drawing boards. Disagree somewhat about parents letting their kids watch the show, according to how “kids” are defined by what age groups: have no problems with my upper-middle-school aged children watching (11 yrs and up). This is their “our” ‘ original ‘Halloween’ movie for them, a lot diluted; or, the later send-ups of… Read more »
I just watched the first episode and I really like it! Can’t wait to see what happens and happy there will be more seasons! Good show so far and I will continue watching it!
There better not be a second season! All of you who watch this show need to stop. This show is not fit for TV. It is very violent and will terrify young children. If you watch this show you need to stop. If you don’t watch it already, please, I’m begging you, don’t watch this show.
It’s a horror show that airs at 9 PM. It’s supposed to scare people and it’s supposed to be violent. If you don’t want your children to watch it, then either put them in bed or change the damn channel…
