Fans of Ugly Betty just got some (possibly) good news. ABC is moving the dramedy to Wednesday nights at 10pm. Unfortunately, that’s spells bad news for fans of cancelled Eastwick.
Eastwick has had a tough time of it and has never quite found a wide audience. The show and its cast — including Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, Jaime Ray Newman, Paul Gross, Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright — have become popular with a devout group of viewers but it’s just not big enough to keep the show on the air.
The show was effectively cancelled last month when ABC opted to not order any additional episodes beyond the initial 13 installments.
Eastwick executive producer, Maggie Friedman, said that this would mean that many show storylines would go unresolved. On the positive side though, it seemed like ABC was committed to airing all of the episodes.

Unfortunately, it now appears that ABC has decided to pull the show off the air before the run is completed. Ugly Betty will take over the Eastwick timeslot on January 6th, bumping the last two episodes of the supernatural series from the schedule.
For now, it seems that the network has no plans to air the final installments of Eastwick. If ABC history is any indication, fans may have to wait until the summer months to see them — ala Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone. If not, then they’ll be able to find them on DVD, if there is one.

I agree that ABC has not been kind to the viewers. There have been many good shows cancelled because of ratings. However, in this age of cable, satellite and recording multiple shows, we don’t watch commercials anyway. Ratings shouldn’t matter much when the viewers are paying high prices for entertainment. Eastwick has great talent and the story lines have been interesting. “Chuck” came back when the fans spoke out – maybe Eastwick will come back as well.
They don’t have the decency to simply air all the episodes already finished, in order and in a timely fassion? **** ABC. I don’t need them. There are other stations with much better programming than ABC.
I am SO sad that they cancelled Eastwick!! Ugly Betty?!! Really?!! At least let us fans finish out the season! You suck ABC!!
Again, here we go…ANOTHER great show cancelled. I adore the characters and the acting was wonderful. It was a very magical show and the mystery was addictive. Bad, bad ABC…

I really liked this show too!! : ( How sad that it will not be continued. I thought it was a good show and the actors and actresses complimented each other really well. I like some will look for something besides Ugly Betty in that time slot.
I thought this was one of the best shows on tv. I can not believe it’s out and Ugly Betty is coming back. I hate that show. why can’t we see all of the episodes of Eastwick?

I can’t believe you took this good show off the air. I loved waiting for it to be on every Wednesday evening. Now I’m left hanging to see what happens this really sucks. May be some of the reality shows need to be dropped. I don’t some of those shows that ABC has so may be I will just keeping watching NBC and other stations that have shows to watch instead of reality shows….

well …****…..damn…..i liked this show. I looked more forward to it than anything in along time. And right…..at least finish the show …dont leave us hanging! Im thinking i will not watch another new series on ABC!!!!!!! Might like it and then they pull the damn thing!
You guys suck….give a show a chance. this could have been as big as Charmed. take some stupid @ss reality show off and give us something worth watching.
It is getting more and more difficult to find anything that even appeals to me on TV anymore. Eastwick was a funny, well written, well acted, often surprising show and your lack of commitment to follow through on it and at least resolve the various plot issues for the viewers, would seem to indicate poor judgement on someone’s part. Please reconsider and bring back this entertaining, sexy show!!! Otherwise, I may give up looking for anything good to watch on your network because I will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you don’t really care about us anyway!
**** ABC. They want to screw over their viewers by not finishing what they have started? Fine. We don’t need them (there are literally hundreds of channels now thanks to cable/satelite/internet), THEY need us. All major companies (the ones that Pay for advertising time on the networks) have websites and email. Let’s start writing to them and telling them we are not going to watch ABC nor buy any products advertised on ABC until the network starts treating the viewers right.
This is about right. Everytime a good show comes out they yank it off the hour. The networks just can’t see that everybody just doesn’t like reality shows all the time. There just aren’t many good shows left. ABC needs to really take another look at this decision. A lot of angry fans. ABC – you really need to ask what your viewers want!!
