Fans of Ugly Betty just got some (possibly) good news. ABC is moving the dramedy to Wednesday nights at 10pm. Unfortunately, that’s spells bad news for fans of cancelled Eastwick.
Eastwick has had a tough time of it and has never quite found a wide audience. The show and its cast — including Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, Jaime Ray Newman, Paul Gross, Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright — have become popular with a devout group of viewers but it’s just not big enough to keep the show on the air.
The show was effectively cancelled last month when ABC opted to not order any additional episodes beyond the initial 13 installments.
Eastwick executive producer, Maggie Friedman, said that this would mean that many show storylines would go unresolved. On the positive side though, it seemed like ABC was committed to airing all of the episodes.

Unfortunately, it now appears that ABC has decided to pull the show off the air before the run is completed. Ugly Betty will take over the Eastwick timeslot on January 6th, bumping the last two episodes of the supernatural series from the schedule.
For now, it seems that the network has no plans to air the final installments of Eastwick. If ABC history is any indication, fans may have to wait until the summer months to see them — ala Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone. If not, then they’ll be able to find them on DVD, if there is one.
What do you think? Do you think ABC will get around to airing the last two episodes or will Eastwick fans be left hanging?

Oh the TV curse hits again…..I can not bear to watch another ABC show!! I mean….Pushing Daisies….Dirty Sexy Money….Just face it America TV is offically dead!! The Reality Shows have won. Writers I feel for you…..with the never ending multitudes of “Reality” contestents out there ready to do anything for a buck..and I mean anything ……TV will never be the same again. Oh and ABC you are not the only one to blame!! CBS….you are the devil in carnate….canceling the most beloved and oldest of soaps….”Guiding Light”!! I was sicked!!! Networks need to realize that ratings are not going down because shows aren’t good or people aren’t watching them, but that many of us are having to watch them online due to whatever. The system they have going for judging what’s being watched is outdated. I haven’t even been able to use the ABC player for months due to known issues that cause my browser to crash, so they can’t even get a good count that way cause a lot of people have that issue. The shows aren’t failing, the current system is.
I AGREE I AM BOYCOTTING ABC 2 ALL TOGETHER THEY ARE SUCH COORPRATE “********” THEY SO NEED 2 TAKE OFF THEIR BLINDFOLDS!!!!! MORE I SIT THE MORE I GET MAD **** OFF ABC!!!!!
this is some in out right bull!!!! why do they (ABC) keep pulling these good shows? in my opinion i was just estatic about this series. they have so many other relgious shows etc on tv but they finally made one about witches and i just loved it. and YES im wiccan, which might seemed a lil biast but damn it was such a wonderful series. they(ABC) had cancelled “Lipstick Jungle” too i should of known that it was going to happen to this one 2. I SO AGREE SUCH A WASTE!!!!!!
Eastwick is one of the best shows to air on network television in a very long time. The acting and the writing is brilliant. What a disappointment when I found out that it was being cancelled. What would posess ABC to leave the final episodes unaired?? What a waste!
Just when things are getting good and heating up, they disappoint me again…
Loosers!
I work in the evenings so I don’t have a chance to watch Eastwick Wednesday nights. This doesn’t stop me from watching it though because I download it as soon as I get home. I love the show and I wish it weren’t being cancelled. To be true to my word, I am boycotting from even watching ABC anymore, and I’m not the only one. They should at least give fans a chance to purchase the last 3 episodes. It was wonderful to see a show that made you proud to be a woman. Adios ABC.
This was one of my ultimate favorite shows. How about we blame ABC for putting the show on at 10 pm. I’m sorry but I have DVR it to watch it because I go to bed early due to my schedule. I loved the story and the characters. ABC and their writers definitly took enough time to develop the story and characters in season 1 it is a shame that as viewers we will not be able to see more of the girls and more importantly episode 11 that explains how the girls get out of the mess they are… Read more »
pleaae jusy show the lAST 3 EPISODES
if they are going to x the show okay but why punish us fans by not letting the final two epsodes….i think abc has seriously dissappointed many fans……….now if they get rid of grey’s im done….
I hardly watch tv at all. This and House were the only two network shows I watched. I don’t really know why I liked Eastwick. There was just something about it that made it fun to watch. My wife loved it and she’s not going to be happy it was canceled. I’m not really surprised though. I’m only surprised that House is still on. Network TV is becoming irrelevant and the network execs are too stupid to figure out why.
I was hesitant on getting into “Eastwick” b/c of ABC’s reputation of pulling good shows. Now they’ve done it again. After Lost is finished I will never, ever watch another ABC show again.
I also am with you. I will not watch anything else new on ABC, FOX or CBS. They have all canceled my favorite shows. Should think about us poor people that TV is our entertainment. Sad truth again, here we sit with nothing to watch… Don’t watch anything new, because the networks will just disappoint you.
omg i so agree once LOST is done im so done with ABC
A B C = ALREADY BEEN CANCELLED
Most TV execs don’t have the brains of our distant relatives – the chimp. They wonder why less and less people are interested in their programs. You get hooked and they yank it off. In case they haven’t realized yet – their “young” audiences have less money to spend than the “older” ones. But, that’s who they cater to and so totally deserve to fail. EASTWICK was a “have to” watch every week. And it got better and better every week. Great cast! Maybe a smarter person will pick it up for their network. We can only hope.
this sucks, they gonna leave it on a cliffhanger…..heck i wanna know what happened to everyone….u got one getting buried alive….one poisoned ….and one looking like she dying in the tub….they cant stop it there….atlease just show the last few episodes
ABC is the network that seems to have some guts — but ABC, you need to be more patient with these shows. Those of us who love these types of shows — because they have interesting characters and represent what’s unexplained in life — usually need some time to warm up to them. And then spread the word via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter or phone. This is a show that’s a slow burn, but eventually takes off. Great cast, great story, lots of magic, and some mystery. ABC, if you still decide to cancel this show, then shop it to CBS,… Read more »
BIG JOHN JAKE: LOVE YOUR COMMENT on EASTWICK behalf. Do you know, that I watch tv close to 24/7 now? Not by choice, but because of a malfunctioning elevator and 2 more surgeries. I NEVER missed an episode, and when it was over I always hoped for “a bit more”. But alas, over is over. Now I don’t have to wait in anticipation for next weeks best show on ALL tv (CNN gets boring..but I have 2 children deployed) and for Wednesday night to hurry up and get here. I really believe that Eastwick was the most creative, well cast,… Read more »
