Fans of Ugly Betty just got some (possibly) good news. ABC is moving the dramedy to Wednesday nights at 10pm. Unfortunately, that’s spells bad news for fans of cancelled Eastwick.
Eastwick has had a tough time of it and has never quite found a wide audience. The show and its cast — including Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, Jaime Ray Newman, Paul Gross, Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright — have become popular with a devout group of viewers but it’s just not big enough to keep the show on the air.
The show was effectively cancelled last month when ABC opted to not order any additional episodes beyond the initial 13 installments.
Eastwick executive producer, Maggie Friedman, said that this would mean that many show storylines would go unresolved. On the positive side though, it seemed like ABC was committed to airing all of the episodes.

Unfortunately, it now appears that ABC has decided to pull the show off the air before the run is completed. Ugly Betty will take over the Eastwick timeslot on January 6th, bumping the last two episodes of the supernatural series from the schedule.
For now, it seems that the network has no plans to air the final installments of Eastwick. If ABC history is any indication, fans may have to wait until the summer months to see them — ala Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone. If not, then they’ll be able to find them on DVD, if there is one.

I have decided to boycott ABC. I know just one person makes no difference to them but it will make me fill better.
ABC is a lousy network. The stunt they pulled with the re-make of V proves that (show 4 episodes and then gom on 4 months hiatus?). And dropping 2 episodes of Eastwick (not to mention show them out of order)?!!?! They had 2 weeks where they aired NO episodes of Eastwick that they could have used to rap up the run. ABC does not care about its viewers so I will no longer watch this poor excuse for a network. Good bye ABC and good ridence to bad rubbish.
This is easily my favorite prime time show (and really the only one I watch with any consistency). I really hope another network will pick it up. I’m thinking that one of the cable channels will get better viewership since ABC seams to cancel any show worth watching and beats dead horses into the ground (ie LOST)…
I don’t understand why they cannot air the last two epsiodes just to try and wrap things up. My gosh what is it going to hurt. It seems like newtworks always do this just because everyone didn’t like the show doesn’t mean it didn’t have a fan base. What about all the other fans who watched the show just like so many shows in the past you will never know what happens.
OK, That’s it…even ABC’s demanding the writers to politely put a believable ending to our beloved EASTWICK, they should have edited out the part of the “evil kid” entering into the picture leaving us with more desire for this story/actors to continue.
Eastwick did not let us down….ABC made the decision for us. The series is very popular with little advertising and in a poor time slot. 10 pm on the west coast. No communication to the viewers, no respect. They want to serve what they want you to watch whether you like it or not. Eastwick did not fail; it was a success and hope another network picks it up because ABC does not diserve it.
I cant believe the ABC is going to pull this show! I dont watch much TV but when I saw just like 5 seconds of the first episode I was hooked! And now they are going to cancel it?!!? ABC you are a horrible TV station, shame on you

Elaine, I couldn’t agree more. After half an episode of idiotic Ugly Betty I never watched it again. There must be some reason, somebody got their tail stepped on or something to cancel this series with these fantastically excellent and funny actors..(I mean that Darryl “GROWL” I am gonna miss)
Just when I decide to watch TV again….this is what happens….thank you ABC!! turning the tube off for the last time!
I can’t believe this.. the only shows that are left on the air are some sort of medical shows or some sort of police shows….I’m so sick of them.. finally a different kind of show is put out there and its taken away.. and we don’t even get to see the last episodes..wtf!!!!!! I’m so upset with ABC, This makes me not want to watch anymore shows that any major channels. AKA: (ABC, CBS , TBS – and others) So many people want to watch reality now AKA: (American Idol, Sing off, Find my family) I’m sick of reality shows and i’m sick of finding a show I do like and then have to really worry the whole time if it will even make it to the end. wow i am so pissed i love eastwick and i think its stupid to atleast not finish out the season i will not watch abc shows ever again!!!
I loved Eastwick. The characters were great. Paul Gross as perfect, Rebecca R. Lindsay Price and Jamie Ray Newman are wonderful actresses and were a perfect blend. Why ABC didn’t give them a chance to grow an audience after investing money in the show to produce it is stupid financial planning and creative blindsiding. Why not give a show that is fun and nurtures friendship creativity and fun a chance? I love Eastwick!!!! Ugly Betty is what should be pulled off the air, now it is taking my favorite shows spot!!! Very disappointing ABC!! Shame on you!
Eastwick was a very well put together show in a beautiful setting, it was so real. I am so up set and I am left hanging, maybe another station should pick it up.
I think that the show was not on long enough so that people could see how good the show is.
I agree with everybody else to many reality shows.
Eastwick was fun and relaxing,
I will never watch ABC period. I will also spread the news to friends and family on FaceBook.
