Fans of Ugly Betty just got some (possibly) good news. ABC is moving the dramedy to Wednesday nights at 10pm. Unfortunately, that’s spells bad news for fans of cancelled Eastwick.
Eastwick has had a tough time of it and has never quite found a wide audience. The show and its cast — including Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, Jaime Ray Newman, Paul Gross, Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright — have become popular with a devout group of viewers but it’s just not big enough to keep the show on the air.
The show was effectively cancelled last month when ABC opted to not order any additional episodes beyond the initial 13 installments.
Eastwick executive producer, Maggie Friedman, said that this would mean that many show storylines would go unresolved. On the positive side though, it seemed like ABC was committed to airing all of the episodes.

Unfortunately, it now appears that ABC has decided to pull the show off the air before the run is completed. Ugly Betty will take over the Eastwick timeslot on January 6th, bumping the last two episodes of the supernatural series from the schedule.
For now, it seems that the network has no plans to air the final installments of Eastwick. If ABC history is any indication, fans may have to wait until the summer months to see them — ala Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone. If not, then they’ll be able to find them on DVD, if there is one.

Beautiful people and I particularly liked the landscape scenery and the way the

WTF, ABC! You can’t start something and not finish it. Eastwick is a good show, with a great storyline, as far as I’m concerned. I don’t get hooked on shows very often; and Eastwick was my new favorite. Now, we’re all left hanging. You’ve got to be kidding me. Air the show. Finish the story, please.
ABC are nothing but a bunch of DICKs that don’t know how to run a business. Look at V. First, it is a lame and boring remake of a good solid 80’s miniseries. Second, they hype the crap out of it then show only 4 episodes before going on a nearly 4 MONTH hiatus. Is that really how to attract an audience? Screw them. I’m going elsewhere for entertainment and news.

Its time we go back to reading a good book—at least we will know how

Eastwick was a great show- ABC is totally stupid for cancelling it to put Ugly Betty in it’s place. ABC will never get my vote to watch Ugly Betty in that time slot or any other, I liked the show at first but really can’t stand it now. Hopefully Lifetime will pick up Eastwick. It was a show that appealed to women and was something other than the doctor/medical dramas, csi’s, typical boring comedy series, reality tv and law shows that we are plauged with these days. Why can’t they run the remaining episodes and see how it rates. Why not run it for a whole season not half. Moving ugly betty around isn’t doing it any favors. Its like the decision makers are just so clueless that are scrambling to much. Time give these things time and see what happens. Not everyone makes up there mind in one episode patience is a great thing to have. this sucks.
I really liked this show. I wish they would keep it going it had mystery and friendship all in one. I loved this show and I am very disappointed in the cancellation.
ABC does this crap all the time. They pulled Pushing Daisies and never aired the last three episodes even though they promised to. I am going to stop watching this channel because everytime I find I show I like they cancel it in the middle of a season and never finish airing it!!! Goodbye ABC I am done with you!
I am so sick of getting into a show just to have it cancelled. And what is with leaving us hanging???? I mean Rebecca’s real life husband is now on the show…..you can’t leave us hanging. No wonder I watch the discovery channel and the travel channel. They actually put stuff on that people like and don’t bail on viewers.
What was ABC thinking!there is a reason that most local channels suffer!all they want to air is these medical, law, or dumb reality shows where people get humiliated on and think that these people are doing them a favor!I will admit Eastwick was the ONLY show I watched on ABC and honestly can’t tell you another show I watched on it!I think they should SCRAP the President of ABC for making to many BAD decisions!
Realy loved the show – and want it back on. So at least some hope that it might be possible is in the reminder that even Star Trek was cancelled once upon a time, so was Due South (Paul Gross’s other TV show) so maybe with enough support from the fans – TV land will listen. Can’t hurt to remind them that there are fans on both sides of the Atlantic ocean. 🙂
I think that the nelson rating system is a joke..My neighbor was one of the raters, they don’t eve n watch tv. They asked their kids all uner 12 to do it. what a joke. So now that all the fresh new shows are canciled for the same old run of the mill crime, and lame sitcoms we can all take another snooze from tv which is exactly what I will do so ur advertising bucks ar wasted now anyway
I love Ugly Betty !! I really liked Eastwick too. I am not surprised by ABC move they have consistently dumped anything that was exceptional i.e. Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy money….. They start these shows but don’t carry through it hardly worth starting to watch them and they pick up Scrubs????? and The Middle stinks and I hate the Bachelor, and all those reality shows. The truth is you watch TV to avoid all that stuff.
I have no idea who Nielson Families are they must scan them for IQ’s below 100.
