This TV series gives a new take on the classic Arthur Conan Doyle characters. It’s a modern-day drama about a crime-solving duo that cracks the NYPD’s most impossible cases.
Following his fall from grace in London and a stint in rehab, eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) escapes to Manhattan where his wealthy father forces him to live with his worst nightmare — a sober companion, Doctor Joan Watson (Lucy Liu). She was a successful surgeon until she lost a patient and her license three years ago.
Watson views her current job as another opportunity to help people, as well as paying a penance. However, the restless Sherlock is nothing like her previous clients. He informs her that none of her expertise as an addiction specialist applies to him and he’s devised his own post-rehab regimen — resuming his work as a police consultant in New York City.
Watson finds she has no choice but to accompany her irascible new charge on his jobs. In the end, Sherlock finds her medical background helpful, and Watson realizes she has a knack for playing investigator.
Sherlock’s police contact is Captain Tobias “Toby” Gregson (Aidan Quinn). He knows, from previously working with Scotland Yard, that Sherlock is brilliant at closing cases, and welcomes him as part of the team.

Amidst Holmes and Watson’s battle with tech billionaire Odin Reichenbach, the investigators receive word of their old enemy and Sherlock’s former love, Jamie Moriarty.

I love this show and the writers come up with fresh stories. I wish Johnny Lee Miller would slow down a little when he’s talking. It’s sometimes had to follow him. The show is great!

Love the show. Portrayal of Sherlock is fantastic . The depth of his character is mesmerizing.
The rest of the cast compliments him they don’t need to be as smart as he is.
I love, love, love this show. I would like to see some tragic moments bring these two characters closer and find that they are a lot alike in different ways. They have flings but nothing really tangible. I would like to think they bring out the best of each other because of each other. Just my take.

Love the show, wish it stays on the air, but it could be much better. So far it’s been Jonny Lee Miller that’s been single handedly carrying the show. Watching, you’d think he wrote his own lines as the rest of the character’s dialogue is pretty much ordinary. As well, how many cases does he have to close before Capt. Gregson and his lead detective stop questioning everything he says. One experience with him on a fresh murder sight would have me hanging on his every word, but for some reason, he constantly needs to prove himself with every case.… Read more »
NO NO NO Please don’t cancel my favorite tv show. This show is the best. It doesn’t treat the viewers as stupid or mundane. Very complicated characters. The story lines are great also. Even the music works with the story line. Please save !
Do not cancel this series, most exciting series on TV.
This is one show that my wife and I can agree on to watch together. I can remember when families would sit around at night and watch TV together, what happened to those times? If here were more shows like this on TV, I feel that there would be more families watching TV together.
