Family Ties is getting an update, but it is not returning to television. A new stage play is updating the story of the Keaton family. Fans will see Alex, Mallory, and Jennifer revisit their family home and clue fans in on what has happened in a 20 year period following the end of the sitcom.
Eve Plumb, from The Brady Bunch, will appear as Elyse Keaton, the matriarch of the NBC sitcom. Jim Stanek, Thea Brooks, and Sara Mackie will appear as the Keaton children.
Family Ties will premiere at The Human Race Theater Company on June 1. TV Insider shared the following about the plot of the stage production:
“In the play, 20 years have passed, and Alex, now running for Congress, returns to his parents’ Columbus home with his sisters, Mallory and Jennifer, who are parents of their own. Gathered together once again, they relive some of the most important moments from their childhood—the growing pains, heartbreaks and reconciliations.”
