USA Network’s In Plain Sight TV show recently had its episode order cut from 16 to 13 installments. Is this a sign that the series is headed for the TV graveyard after three seasons?
Not necessarily. It turns out that In Plain Sight will wrap season three early for another reason. The Futon Critic was told by Universal Cable Productions, “John McNamara, executive producer and showrunner of USA Network’s In Plain Sight, took a leave of absence for medical reasons… John Romano assumed executive producer responsibilities for the remaining episodes. Given the unexpected change, we decided to end the season at a natural spot — with the surprising cliffhanger of episode 13.”
Season three will finish airing on Wednesday, June 30th. In Plain Sight hasn’t been renewed for a fourth season yet and isn’t necessarily looking like a lock either.
Last season reportedly averaged 4.08 million viewers but recent episodes have been attracting less than three million viewers. That’s certainly not a good indicator for renewal.
What do you think? Should In Plain Sight be renewed for season four or cancelled?

I am retired and I only keep dish network to watch USA network shows like Monk (which is over), Burn notice, In Plain Sight, Covert Affairs, White Collar, etc. These are the best shows on TV. Better than anything on network TV. Please, please renew IPS.
I adored Mary Shannon when she was in the service of President Bartlett on The West Wing. She is so talented! There are so many good characters in this show and sharp writing. Please renew!
We (my hubby & I) have been watching for IPS to return. We never missed an episode and would be very disappointed if it didn’t return. We also love Covert Affairs, Risoli & Isles, and Royal Pains.
Please don’t cancel this one too. All the decent programs are going by the wayside. I no longer watch network because of the junk they air, cable was my only hope
NO!!! Please don’t cancel IPS…ENOUGH shows that I love have already been cancelled. I cannot go this year without Inspector Marshall Marshall and the smart-assed Mary.
Love this show! Hope it doesn’t get cancelled I’ve actually been finding more good programming on USA and other cable channels than on the “regular” networks over the past few seasons. They don’t even air any of the IPS reruns which is sort of odd–they do for all their other shows between seasons.
Well, crap! This makes the 3rd show this year cancelled from my favorites. I have very little free time for tv and have to dvr what I do watch. My list keeps shrinking… So disappointing.
Please keep the show!!!! IPS is one of my must see shows.
please keep the show on, i dont even know if that is possible now, but i love this show
GREAT show! PLEASE don’t cancel this one! Fits right in
with White Collar & Covert Affairs. And is WAY better than
Royal Pains (although I like it too).
I can’t belive that IPS is even being considered to not to return to the USA Network. USA has started to get some really good shows and ISP is in the top 3 in my book. Just think what could have changed TV if they would have went on and cancelled All In The Family.
Keep the show. I have been waiting and now that I see promos for all the others coming back to USA, I can’t believe IPS is not among them!!! I also love White Collar.
please don;t cancel,i love this show, tried off all the good ones being taken off the air!
