TVGuide is reporting that NBC has unceremoniously cancelled Las Vegas after five seasons on the air.
Las Vegas debuted on September 22, 2003 and was touted as actor James Caan’s first series regular role on television. The Academy Award-nominated actor was cast as the Montecito casino’s Head of Security, ‘Big Ed’ Deline. Others in the cast have included Nikki Cox, Josh Duhamel, James Lesure, Vanessa Marcil, Molly Sims, and Marsha Thomason.
Caan left the series last year to return to his movie career and Cox was cut from the show in a cost-cutting move. Caan was replaced by Tom Selleck and it was hoped that the addition of the veteran TV actor would help revitalize the series. It didn’t and, coupled with the series’ move to Friday nights, the ratings dropped significantly.
Last year, Las Vegas was one of the earliest NBC shows to get a renewal notice. What a difference a year can make.
NBC has opted not to renew Las Vegas for season six. Unlike Friday Night Lights, Vegas apparently doesn’t warrant shopping to other possible outlets and fans of the series are left with a cliffhanger. The last two episodes aired last Friday and was first in the ratings for both hours, Unbeknownst to viewers at the time, it was likely the last time we’ll see the staff of the Montecito. Stay tuned!
….To be continued!!!
Really?…NBC i.m.o. needs to be hit in the face with my elbow! I’m down the petition, hit me up 🙂
This is the best TV show that I have ever watched. I own all five seasons and I finally got around to watching the series finale and it absolutely sucked! I cannot believe NBC did not even have the decency to give their audience a proper finale. I think they need to bring it back for a last season or at the very least two more episodes to tie up all of the loose ends that they left hanging in their excuse for an ending! Lets get this show back!
Needs to come back.
I’m shocked to see the series end like this. Unknowingly I searched online for a Season 6 DVD, but was very unsuccessful because there isn’t one!!! What was NBC thinking? Viewers are demanding that the show come back, so hopefully someone’s out there realizing this!
Love the show and everyone on the cast!!!
My dad used to watch Las Vegas all the time and I watched it with him before cancer finally took him from us. I noticed that it was on regularly on TNT and now my kids and I watch “granpa Dans” show all the time. How can NBC expect viewers to invest in a show only to watch it end in this way. They won’t do it and neither will I. Please bring it back for some closure.
It’s just another NBC casualty like Friday Night Lights and Heroes. I am officially boycotting NBC. They don’t care about the viewers, just their bottom line. To leave loyal fans with unresolved plots is inexcusable and they’ve done it numerous times now. To be honest, I don’t dare get involved with another NBC series just to avoid what seems to be turning out to be a pattern of disappointment. Get your sh*t together before you lose you viewers AND your bottom line
I’m very very sad, since The best tv-show ever was canceled. Hope NBC can give us to all Las Vegas fans a good end of the season, ‘cuz it’s not possible to jost cut off the air one of the best tv-shows. Hope that at least would it be a good, and I mean a Really good ending.
If they don’t have more ideas, we as a fans can help. Viva Las Vegas!!!
Onde esta o abaixo asinado para continuação (sexta temporada) ou um longa que finalize o seriado Las Vegas.
this is bull **** i mean how can they honestly do this to there loyal fans
I am really upset with the ending of season 5 because the ending keeps me wonder what will happen to Delinda and Danny and their baby and how Copper survived and what will happen to Montecito and it is really irritating. I really love Las Vegas series and I really am expecting to watch season 6. NBC Shouldn’t start what they can’t finished.
They totally left all the fans hanging and its terrible that no one knows what happened with Cooper or Delinda and Danny.Mike was also just starting a story of his own with him and Pipher. They should at least have one final season to tie up loose ends. This was a good show but it ended dishonorably with a cliffhanger.
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS SHOULD STAY ON TV!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, would someone please tell me the show ended with Delinda bleeding and Cooper coming into the room when everyone thought he was dead? There are no more? Thats it? I just recently started watching the show and found myself taping every episode to find out what happened. I watch that episode wondering about the baby and Cooper, and now I find out that was the very last one? Are you kidding me? Please email me because Im sure I wont be able to find this site again and I am really interested in what happened! I mite be too… Read more »
Episodes air daily M-F on TNT @ 12pm to 2pm, and for everyone thinkin they left us high and dry, they didn’t. If u remeber the writers strike, las vegas was one of its casulaties, I want it back just as bad as everyone else, but honestly Josh duhmel? (Danny) most likely wouldn’t want to return. His career has somewhat took off and going back to TV dosent seem likely. Even if the show was picked up, but guys keep sending NBC complaints, n maybe it’ll come true, they (not nbc) brought back Futurama after a few years becuz of… Read more »
I would definitely help petition about getting the show back on the air.
I would love to sign a petition to get the show back. I am a huge fan and am so pissed they did this to the show.
I just finished watching season 5 of Las Vegas and I immediately pissed off because the ending of the episode just left me hanging on. I expect MORE than just a hangin’ episode. I demand a DECENT, NICE ending. and now I can’t help myself but wondering what the hell is going to happen in season 6, in fact, I make my own season 6 with my imagination. how pathetic is that? You gotta be kidding me, NBC. Las Vegas is the greatest tv series I’ve ever watched. It’s very entertaining, with a really good casts. I loveeeeee every single… Read more »
I sat here just now and finished the final episode of the 5th season with great excitement to go out and buy the 6th season. I jump online, type it in, and find my self here extremely pissed off with everyone else because NBC decided to end one of their better shows. It’s also not just ending a great show but more in the way they did it. I’m left here with such an empty feeling because I will never know what’s going to happen. I watch every episode with such excitement knowing that their is an episode to follow… Read more »
Where can I find the final 2 episodes. I missed them when they aired and LOVED that show.
