TVGuide is reporting that NBC has unceremoniously cancelled Las Vegas after five seasons on the air.
Las Vegas debuted on September 22, 2003 and was touted as actor James Caan’s first series regular role on television. The Academy Award-nominated actor was cast as the Montecito casino’s Head of Security, ‘Big Ed’ Deline. Others in the cast have included Nikki Cox, Josh Duhamel, James Lesure, Vanessa Marcil, Molly Sims, and Marsha Thomason.
Caan left the series last year to return to his movie career and Cox was cut from the show in a cost-cutting move. Caan was replaced by Tom Selleck and it was hoped that the addition of the veteran TV actor would help revitalize the series. It didn’t and, coupled with the series’ move to Friday nights, the ratings dropped significantly.
Last year, Las Vegas was one of the earliest NBC shows to get a renewal notice. What a difference a year can make.
NBC has opted not to renew Las Vegas for season six. Unlike Friday Night Lights, Vegas apparently doesn’t warrant shopping to other possible outlets and fans of the series are left with a cliffhanger. The last two episodes aired last Friday and was first in the ratings for both hours, Unbeknownst to viewers at the time, it was likely the last time we’ll see the staff of the Montecito. Stay tuned! 
What in the world!!! My fam and I have to know what comes next….what happened to the baby and what was the deal with Cooper???? Start it back up…this is a really great show!!!
totally agree with all these comments big big mistake it wasnt given a chance i also agree that it was very unfair to loyal viewers to at least not give the show a proper end . have you execs seen all the crap on tv lately vegas was a show like no other. when tom selleck came in i thought surely hes not going to work out people are going to miss james caan i was wrong he was magnificent
Just finished watching season 5 of las Vegas on DVD and can not believe how you ended it!! Have some respect for your viewers, the loyal people who have enjoyed the show, spent money on buying all seasons on DVD! As if you couldn’t have done one more episode and ended it properly-selfish and disrespectful. Remind me never to watch a show produced by NBC as I very well could be left pissed off again- NO THANKS!!
I think NBC has chosen the wrong road. They left us with a cliff hanger and we deserve to now what happens. I think the show is amazing and Fun, The show deserves to have its spotlight… Big Big Mistace……………………… If this was brocasted again, I would watch it and by the Series…. Ive wasted my money on summet which u people dont care about
Put the show back on I bet you it’ll be well worth it. And if not take it back off. So many people were very interested on how the show would end. Why would you put a to be continued…. At the end of the show like that? It makes no sense at all. I’m sure it wouldn’t have hurt to continue the episode at least instead of leaving the fans and audience of “Las Vegas” guessing.
I just wanted to add to this and let it be known that this was a very good show and that you should bring it back or sell the rights to tnt since the reruns play there twice a day!!! Hopefully if enough people say something then they will bring it back!!! You dont need to make money on selling things for las vegas just make money on the commercials since it is a highly viewed show and keep your ratings up!!!

What in the name of God are you guy’s doing Las Vegas was hottt, considering the junk that is getting air play and the non-acting actors that are popping up WRONG MOVE to have stop the show of a cliffhanger and the viewers up in the air now unhappy, goodnes at least finish the episode with Cooper’s return and Dehlinda geez’s. James Caan yes will be highly missed but the whole staff were a bunch of keepers please peeps complete it do the right thing… BRING IT BACK
Wat is wrong with NBC? They should bring it back. I know i am stating the obvious but it was the first show my whole family has enjoyed. Also why would a whole company be dumb enough to cancel a show if the series is like 2 episodes from completion?
Hello! I live in Ukraine. Only recently been able to watch TV series “Las Vegas”. This is a very good show. Smtrel with great attention. I am very sorry that he was not finished. This is a very dynamic and interesting history.

Why would a network cancel a good show watched by so many people?? and why would you cancel at such a critical show?? What idiots run this place?
