A couple months ago, NBC announced that Carson Daly, the host of The Voice and Last Call with Carson Daly, would be joining The Today Show as a daily contributor.
The network said that Daly would remain as an executive producer of Last Call in the interim while a “transition” plan was worked out. That was understood to mean a cancellation or at least a new host taking over.
Deadline reports that new episodes began airing at the end of October with “wraparounds” of Daly opening and closing each episode. Interviews are being handled by producers.
The network seems to like the new format so Last Call with Carson Daly will stay on the schedule, at least for the next few months.
What do you think? If you watch Last Call, do you like the new format?
Yaaa! Stopped watching this show several years ago when the format changed and it wasn’t “live” anymore. Daly has a list of standard questions now for guests such as “what would you be doing if you weren’t famous?”, “why are there not more of that type of entertainment?” and of course the “what can happen to things if they go awry?”…Stale! Stale! Stale! Let’s have more Montel infomercials in that time slot!!!!NOT!
NBC Today Show is a PC nightmare. Lighten up!
NBC is stuck with this awful show. If he’s contributing to The Today Show, it won’t help its ratings if they cancel his Last Call show. NBC should, again, take advantage of this slump and dump Guthrie, Daly and the annoying Tamron Hall.
