Because The Leftovers TV show ratings plummeted in season two, the third and final season renewal was a happy surprise. Damon Lindelof has been adamant that he’s not looking for a renewal or a spin-off. Perhaps still suffering from Lost backlash PTSD, he’s made it clear closure is his goal. So why track the ratings for season three of The Leftovers? Well, for one thing, it’s fun. For another, it gives us perspective for the fate of other HBO TV shows. So, while we don’t have to wonder if The Leftovers is cancelled or renewed for season four, stay tuned.
In season three, The Leftovers stars Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, Kevin Carroll, Christopher Eccleston, Scott Glenn, Lindsay Duncan, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Janel Moloney, Margaret Qualley, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Liv Tyler and Chris Zylka. Based on the Tom Perrotta novel, this HBO TV series explores what happens when 2% of the world’s population inexplicably vanishes. In the third and final season, the Garvey and Murphy families come together as they seek reasons for that which defies explanation. It feels like something big is coming — a bookend to the “Sudden Departure” that rocked the world and brings their journey Down Under.

Geez. I’m really surprised by the ratings of this show. I guess I see why they canceled it. But wow, was it good. I’m sad to see it end. At least it ended…nicely.

Awesome show, original, clever, weird, unpredictable. Everything I look for in a show. Sad that they cut it short, could’ve at least gave us 10 episodes for season 3. Good job all the same, and thanks, I enjoyed it very much.

I just started watching the Leftovers 3 weeks ago. I have been glued to the TV binge watching every episode. I cannot believe this show is not being renewed! I’m not sure if it is the name of the series or what but I don’t believe most people are aware this show exists! Westworld does not compare to this show. This series is amazing! If HBO is not going to renew the series I believe it would be a huge success if Netflix purchased it!
I agree. I think we need to petition or something. Not sure why this amazingly brilliant show never caught fire as much as it should have. All three seasons easily put most walking dead seasons to shame.

Westworld was interesting, but compared to The Leftovers, it’s just silly. Seems like most of the shows I like aren’t the most popular, and end too early.

It’s easily the best show on television. Riveting storylines, incredible acting, and a dark vibe that portrays strong dramatic themes without merely trying to be dramatic. And the music is amazing as well.
I need for there to be a 4th instalment. It is creative, thought provoking and just great entertainment. Please, let there be a fourth season.
Omg. I didn’t watch before because I didn’t know!!! I’ve watched all seasons like a year and some change ago. I binge watched. I’ve been waiting. Every year new Ppl find it, watch and get turnt out. We are out here dying. We need a season 4. Dude needs to put out a 4th season. We’d pay. The show is unlike anything. I need more!!!!!! Help!!!!!
