We all saw it coming. One of the most anticipated TV shows of the new fall season, Lone Star, has been cancelled after two episodes.
Lone Star centers around a handsome conman (James Wolk) who lives a double life to swindle investors and an oil tycoon family. He starts to have regrets and struggles to balance both lives and keep everybody happy. Others in the series are Jon Voight, Adrianne Palicki, Bryce Johnson, David Keith, Eloise Mumford, and Mark Deklin.
The FOX series debuted last week to a very disappointing 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.1 million total viewers. Last night, despite several days of buzz and campaigning to get new viewers, the ratings fell even lower to a 1.0 rating in the demo and 3.23 million viewers. As was the case in week one, many people who started watching tuned out before the episode was over. For whatever reason, it just didn’t click.
Lone Star has been cancelled effective immediately and the three remaining unaired episodes have been shelved. There’s no word if FOX will get around to releasing the remaining episodes at some point in the future.
Last week, the cast and crew were shooting the sixth installment. Production has now been shut down and it’s unclear if that episode was completed.
Lone Star’s spot will be filled by the season three premiere of Lie to Me.

I loved the show and Fox didn’t even give it a chance. I got so many people watching the show then their calling me asking me what happened. It’s funny how they lost all the good people on American Idol, the ratings are at an all time low, the show is boring, the tour is so pathetic that they had to cancel some shows but their still pumping money into the show and giving it a chance to come back. Let another Network have the show and see how well it does.
This was the best new show of the season. I loved the story line and the cast. I hope a cable station picks it up!
I also liked lonestar and why not just give it a chance im tired of reality shows ! Maybe they should shelve american idol and glee those shows stink!! Hells kitchen should stay on tuesday nights
The show looked very good maybe the name screwed things up it should’ve been put on before House. I would like to see more of it.

Lone Star conflicted with another show that I had been watching so the next day I would watch Lone Star on my computer. I loved the show and want it to come back. It was interesting and good acting. Please bring it back.

I think if the second show was given a chance people would really find it a great story! I have spoken to many friends that missed the first show and unfortunately did not dvr it. They wanted to start watching the show until they found out the series would be cancelled. Unbelievable and very disappointed One of my favorite actors David Keith!
I still can’t get over that this show has been cancelled – my wife and I had finally found a show we both loved!!! I’d love to see the remaining episodes. It seems the only shows on tv are reality and cop shows. I’ve had my fill of both. Lone Star was great.
What a shame. My sister and I called each other after the first show and couldn’t wait for the next one. To keep stupid shows and cancel this one puzzles me. Please bring it back!!
I can’t believe that these worthless reality shows continue and something interesting (and worth watching) like Lone Star gets cancelled. What a shame.

Why doesn’t Fox give a show time to find an audience? 2 episodes? Give me a break! This was a great show.
I agree with Jack Morgan. Fox did not give the show time to find an audience. This was a great show and I was enjoying it. I just don’t think that 2 episodes gives a show enough time to get off the ground. This upsets me and I don’t even want to get hooked on another show just for it to be cancelled. I personally think this would have been a good show if you would have given it the time it needed. Please bring it back and give it a chance.
Fox is stupid. All the shows that you do choose to keep are not good.
