We all saw it coming. One of the most anticipated TV shows of the new fall season, Lone Star, has been cancelled after two episodes.
Lone Star centers around a handsome conman (James Wolk) who lives a double life to swindle investors and an oil tycoon family. He starts to have regrets and struggles to balance both lives and keep everybody happy. Others in the series are Jon Voight, Adrianne Palicki, Bryce Johnson, David Keith, Eloise Mumford, and Mark Deklin.
The FOX series debuted last week to a very disappointing 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.1 million total viewers. Last night, despite several days of buzz and campaigning to get new viewers, the ratings fell even lower to a 1.0 rating in the demo and 3.23 million viewers. As was the case in week one, many people who started watching tuned out before the episode was over. For whatever reason, it just didn’t click.
Lone Star has been cancelled effective immediately and the three remaining unaired episodes have been shelved. There’s no word if FOX will get around to releasing the remaining episodes at some point in the future.
Last week, the cast and crew were shooting the sixth installment. Production has now been shut down and it’s unclear if that episode was completed.
Lone Star’s spot will be filled by the season three premiere of Lie to Me.

UPDATE: Subsequent reports have indicated that there are six completed episodes with four left unaired.

Very disappointed….. I was looking foward to Lone Star.
I first thought my DVR was broke since it did not record. It was going to be our NEW show to watch weekly. I hope it comes back.
I think it was a good show. At least they should try and air the 4 episodes left. I wanted to know what was going to happen…. I think fox should put the episodes on the internet only and see the respond of the public.
I really liked this show!!! After the first few minutes i was hooked. I saw an ad in a magazine before it aired and my co-workers and I said we were going to watch it. The two shows my roommates and I gathered around the t.v. down stairs and watched it together. We would really like to see what was going to happen! PUT THE SHOW BACK ON! Please!

Being from Texas, I was excited about the show from the previews. But I have to say, the story line just wasn’t going to work for me. In fact, I was almost one of those who turned it off after the first 15 minutes. No matter how charming and attractive the main character is, leading a double life like that can only destroy two innocent families ( not taking into consideration the in-laws involved ). I really enjoyed the show and am really dissappointed that the show was cancelled.
For me personally…if it weren’t for my DVR, I wouldn’t be able to see a lot of shows. There is a lot of competition and I record many shows that come on at the same time every so that I can watch.
I think the story line was very unique….unlike most other shows….I was really curious how this guy was going to be able to maintain two wives….living in two different towns….dealing with his overzealous dad…..and maintaining some since of sanity at the same time.

I think the american audience doesn’t want to watch a story about a guy getting rich off of people who got conned, or a story about a guy who is involved with two women. It would be one thing if he was conning only 1, or if one of the women characters was unlikable, but because this guy is supposed to be the main character/protagonist, there is too much tension. I loved it. different then the same old stuff on tv. Very suspensful. I miss it please bring it back. maybe different time slot would work.
I’m really sad to see this show was canceled! I loved the cast and the storyline..maybe it was the time it came on? Was it on during the same time another big show was on?? And I could have sworn there were 3 episodes. To be honest, I only watched one episode on TV and I could have sworn I watched two episodes online. The main character is soo cute…I hate that they cancelled this show!
