TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
I never replied to posts before but I feel compelled to say that Lomgmire was one of my favorite shows. I truly hope some network allows this show to continue. I’ve been upset by this cancellation for over a week when normally I couldn’t care less if a show is cancelled.
As far as I am concerned, this is the best show on TV. I commend A&E for bringing us this excellent series. I am very disappointed that it has been cancelled. Please bring back the show.
I cannot believe it was cancelled either. I really enjoyed the story, the characters. I am getting disappointed in a&e. Really loved this show.
Please do not Cancel this series I looked forward to each and every week with excitment of the next adventure. I felt it to very well cast and the writers done a excellent Job
This is one of the best shows on TV, especially for the fact that is not on one of the MAJOR networks. We watched it from the very first show and were hooked. Good story line, great cast and well acted. Please bring it back….there is no disgrace in changing your mind.
Why did you cancel Longmire?? I do not understand. My husband and I have been watching the show from the beginning and it is a great series. Please change your mind and leave it on. It seems like all the the good shows are taken off and the stupid ones left on.
Please leave Longmire on A&E.
Don’t cancel this show. It is one of the best on TV today.
Why on earth was this show cancelled? Please reconsider and bring it back!!
Longmire should not have been cancelled with a cliff hanger.
renew it so we can see who got shot.
Dear A & E Producers, There is less and less really good television anymore, and Longmire on A & E was one of the best programs on TV. If you do indeed cancel this program, we will have even less to watch, and fewer reasons to watch A & E. The writing, casting, and acting on Longmire are superb, and you are to be complimented for presenting such a good program. We look forward every week to the new episode, and look forward to the next season. It is comparable to NCIS, another of our favorite shows. I am sad… Read more »
Please do not cancel Longmire. It is a great show. We enjoy it so much. Please reconsider and leave it on. There are so few shows that re as enjoyable as this onel.
We cannot believe this show is cancelled. It is a great series. Please reconsider canceling it and bring it back on. It is a wonderful show.
Hey A&E, Longmire is both Art and Entertainment. I find it difficult to believe that A&E is willing to remove one of the few programs on its line up that is actually worth watching. Longmire is dramatic, humorous, intriguing, spiritual, suspenseful, multi-cultural, educational and IS quality programming. There are few shows that depict such strong, honorable, uncompromising characters as Walt and Henry. Whoever at A&E made the decision to cancel Longmire should polish up his or her resume, I don’t see you making a success of it as a program director. Unless you call the plethora of “reality shows” entertainment.… Read more »
It never ceases to amaze me just how stupid some networks can be.
Why on earth would you cancel a series that has been, for 3 years, the most watched show on your network. And how could you leave your viewers with the cliffhanger you had with no resolution in sight. I think this decision needs to be rethought out.
Absolutely a wonderful series – please renew!!!
