TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
The only show that promotes values, keeping your word, protecting the weak, with no walking dead or mad bombers, of course it had to be cancelled. I will try to follow it if someone else picks it up. My favorite show for the whole year, not just summer replacement.
Love longmire! Please bring it back!!!! The really good showed get the axe! Not fair! Older folk watch a lot of tv and buy lots of stuff!
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS MY FAVOURITE SHOW AND ALL MY 27 FRIENDS ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. A AND E YOU DO THIS ALL THE TIME. PLS GET IT BACK OR WE WILL NOT EVER WATCH YOUR STATION AGAIN. WE ARE DEVASTATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please if you use Twitter, join #Lonmire Posse. Retweet or comment. There are a lot of use who really want this show to continue.
We loved Longmire sad it’s canceled
Agree with others that the good ones always get the chop and the crap lives on. I’ve recruited fans at work who like duck dynasty and shark week. This show is quality and should be allowed to live!
our favorite series, cancelled because of inept A & E management. TV is such a disappointment……..a great escape for people has turned into a nasty REALITY All about the dollar…….reality is cheap…..you get what you pay for. Wake Up!
Keep Longmire.
Why in the world would a network want to cancel their most popular show?? It’s one of the few shows my husband and I enjoy together. Wake up A&E, get with the program and listen to your audience. Return Longmire to the active lineup.
Why! It’s an awesome show! You’ll keep the long beards on after one of many stupid remarks, but cancel one of the best shows that has come on A&E! What, another reality show is comin’ on. Sick and tired of reality shows. The way the season finale ended to be a series finally, SUCKS. Who sitting at the top over there, an idiot, that’s who!!!
The proliferation of virtually unwatchable, scripted, “reality” TV programing and the dedication shown to that pathetic genre by A & E coupled with the cancellation of Longmire, one of the more thoughtful series of recent years, has left us with no motivation or inclination to continue subscription to the package containing that network. Someone really dropped the ball on this decision.
I’m really tired of great shows like Longmire being canceled & keeping some of the dumbest reality shows ! I’ve stopped watching a lot of regular tv every time I get into a good show they cancel it!
Hi! Netflex is where I saw the first three series of “Longmire.” From the get go, I was riveted to watching each and every episode!! The stories were great, the characters were very good. Robert Taylor plays the role of Sherriff and he is nothing short of being “fantastic!!” To be very candid, I was looking forward to the start of the fourth season. Why? If my memory is correct, the last scene of series three shows the Deputy Sherriff being shot by this “Indian Spirit!” Taylor’s character, Sherriff Longmire is shown carrying his Deputy to obtain medical assistance. Apparently… Read more »
Finally, the remaining show on A&E worth investing any time to watch is canceled. Well if another network picks it up they will be my new favorite NET. Hopefully FX will pick it up and add it to the lineup with Justified. Wouldn’t that be great!
We think it would be a mistake to cancel this show. Both of us enjoy this series and wish it would come on more frequently.
I, too, do not respond and give comments, and most especially regarding TV. LONGMIRE’s cancellation news created the motivation to give my two cents worth. For the first time in years, TV has something of substance to watch. …. And now A&E wants to cancel? Whoever is assigned to this task of deciding what is cancelled needs to be placed in the job line to find a job better suited for them.
Please reconsider in having the fourth plus future seasons of LONGMIRE!!!!
Whomever at A&E was t he final hammer dropper, cancelling one of the few remaining tv shows that did NOT lack substance, should take a serious look back at the obvious absence of due dilligence. Here’s a hint. Ignore good ratingss if you must, but Do a little research and take a look at such things as the buzz among viewers who couldn’t wait until the next episode or season to see which way the latest drama would turn. Or how about this? Take a look at the number of hits on Netflix from people who first found the series… Read more »
