TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
It has to continue. There’s just too much good left to come!
Renew LONGMIRE, great books GREAT SHOW. I am sad that it will be canceled, but hopfully some other station will pick it up…..Remember Harry Potter was rejected by a few publishers, who I am sure are currently unemployed!
Please rethink this decision. Love the books, love the show. This show wasn’t all about superficial, self-centered values the way many shows are. Hope another network picks this show up. It was the only show I watched on A and E too.
A&E owned and operated by Disney-ABC Corp.
Is the bottom line “$$$” all that ‘s important, Anne? Or do you not like Longmire because it isn’t all sex and full of the “F” word?????
Have you ever watched the series?
Bring it back. It is a really good show. Why cancel it has a lot of followers. I hate how they always cancel the good ones.
WHAAAT is wrong with A&E? Arts & Entertainment – not sure the powers that be know the meaning of those words.
Longmire had good cast, good writing, good plot and kept away from the soap opera style
that so many other series adopted.
DON’T CANCEL IT. Everyone I’ve recruited, loves it. Wake up A&E…………someone will steal it from you.
I am really disappointed that Longmire has been cancelled. It is such a good series. The acting is wonderful and the subject matter is unique with the Native American component to the story. Excellent writing. Please bring this back!!!
There are so few quality shows left for folks. The junk thrown at viewers is shameful…. Longmire was at the top of my list of the best. Also, it provided us a true look into parts of Native American culture which was done by bringing in a Native American consultant. A & E… shame on you. I’m done with your network.
There were, what, 4 episodes in the new season? Then the show is dropped! Ridiculous! This was one of the best shows of all time, IMO. Never understand why A&E dropped it, unless they’re not real bright….
Finally a show with a good story and great cast, I looked forward to it each week, why cancel it ? do we not have enough vampires and aliens already.
Longmire is honest, with real character facing their own demons while seeking justice. A&E has shown contempt for their viewers by showing a dramatic cliffhanger and then canceling the show. I’m sure they will replace it with something cerebral like “Froghunters,” or some other trash.
Please get Longmire back. There are a lot of us that watch this program. The acting is very good. also the story. I am also tired of good programs being taken off. Please put this won back on.
Like to meet thr nut job who decided it was a good idea to cancel ” LONGMIRE”. NOT A SMART MOVE,WHAT NETWORK CANCELS THE HIGHEST RATING DRAMA ON A&E. MOVE OVER, TNT PICK IT UP, EXAMPLE THE CLOSER, MAJOR CRIMES ? COME ON TED DO YOUR MAGIC.
Finally find a good show on television and it gets cancelled. This show is the highlight of my viewing; the casting is spot on, the acting is superb, the writing is great and the location shots are terrific…….all elements to get a show cancelled, right!
Great acting – great stories. I agree with everyone above who are outraged about the cancellation. Please, please, rethink your decision.
