TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
I have read all of Craig’s books, I was a fan after I read the first book “The Cold Dish”, which seized my interest and appreciation for Walt’s humanity and his compassion. I was in Phu Bai during 1968 when Walt visited I Core and also met Henry who was one of those soldiers who
wore a Claymore to provide a final shot if trapped by the PAVN. Henry, and Vic, and Ruby “Basquo”, and the rest are one of my very favorite groups of charachters.
I will be cancelling A&E at my residence, this evening.
I have read all of the Longmire books I was in Phu Bai when Walt visited in 1968. Henry, Vic, Cady and the rest of Walt’s associates, friends & lovers move me profoundly move me. Ten minutes from now A&E will be blocked at may home.
One of the better tv shows was cancelled. Longmire. Can’t believe it. Reality shows, garbage shows, and you finally got it right with Longmire and cancelled it. What a shame. I truly hope this gets picked up by another network. What a waste of a great show.
I can’t believe they cancelled this show!!! I love LONGMIRE!! How will we find out if Branch was shot by his father???? Please, Please bring it back!
ISNT IT VERY SAD THAT GREAT, QUALITY PROGRAMS LIKE
“LOGMIRE” ARE CANCELLED. IT WOUD BE WONDERFUL
IF ANOTHER NETWORK WAS INTERESTED AND REALIZES
WHAT A WORTHY SHOW THIS TRUELY IS AND PICK IT UP
FOR MANY MORE SEASON. AH, LETS HOPE!
Please do not cancel Longmire! Quality programming burnishes the network image and keeps you relevant. Please bring Longmire back!
I am so sad that this show has been cancelled. It is a great tv series.
My husband and I LOVE the “Longmire” series!! I am waiting to be able to purchase the third season. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT cancel “Longmire” next year or for a long time after that. The story lines are great and we LOVE the actors. The is a great on-screen chemistry between the characters that makes the show great. We love the friendship between Walt and Henry especially. Please, rethink the fans’ comments. Thank you for listening…
Best show on TV. I cannot imagine the logic of cancelling a successful show. Ok, maybe the millenials don’t watch it……but remember who has the money? It’s the over 50 crowd.
WHAT!! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!! Finally, something worth watching. I am so disappointed!!!! Is there any campaign to get it back??????????????????
Let’s hope that a more intelligent network will pick up this wonderful series. I really can’t imagine what A & E was thinking. The majority of TV watchers are way over the age of 50 and the younger folks are much too busy to be bothered with a TV series.
I cannot believe that A&E cancelled Longmire. I have been a fan since day one. I am very disappointed in A&E for making this decision. They could at least do one more season to wrap up the story lines. This used to be one of my favorite channels to watch. It will now be removed from my FAVS list.
Longmire cancelled because his audience is too old? Of all the stupid BS I’ve ever heard. Someone please tell A&E us old folks have to have a very good reason to stay up that late. In this case, it’s called a great television show. Keep it on!
REALLY you canceled this show? Where the neck are your taste buds located…. This was a fantastic series and I along with several other people enjoyed watching a series that had a story line instead of all of the mindless, stupid, worthless reality shows that are out there now. I can’t believe people get payed for acting stupid and making fools of themselves. MY VOTE IS TO BRING BACK LONGMIRE!!!!!!!!!
Bring it back!!!!!
