TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
This was one of the best shows on TV. What a shame! A& E has enough crappy reality
After watching all the episodes of Longmire, then finding that A&E has cancelled this marvelous show, I find that I will not watch A&E again. They obviously prefer fluff to good quality programming. I find it hard to believe that this network has succumbed to this redesign of their shows that they choose to feature now. Long ago they were showing wonderful tv. But no more. It has to make sense that another good network will see these posts and pick it up. I’m thinking AMC. After all, their Hell on Wheels is also fantastic. What a lead in for… Read more »
I have watched this show from the beginning and hope that some other network that appreciates a well written show will pick this up. From the comments I’ve read so far, this holds true for many people.
Renewed
I am 68 Years old and followed Longmire all 33 episodes. One of the best shows on TV to cancel was pure ridiculous. I hope some one other than A & E picks up it. It is a Money maker.
Longmire was one of the best shows on TV in a long while. Excellent in every single way. It should be renewed or taken over by another network. Viewers may be older but that doesn’t mean we don’t watch a LOT of TV and we are Baby Boomer consumers. Given me a break. Why keep crap like Duck Dynasty and boot out quality like Longmire unless your values are skewed beyond redemption.
I believe it should have been renewed. I really enjoyed the show . I am personally fed up with A&E and there way of doing business . First the whole duck dynasty mess and now longmire . I will not be viewing anything on A&E if they continue with the cancelation !
Why Why Why???? One of the best tv shows on! Everyone I know loves it and watches it religiously!!!!! Bring it back!!!!!
I’m over 60 and A&E can go broke cause I’ll never watch any thing on A&E again All they what is trash and they have a lot of if. I like Longmire and the duck boys but I think Obama runs A&E . So go and put your trash I don’t have to watch.
Please renew Longmire.
this is a great show WE need it back
Love love love this show. Sad to see it end.
How can an excellent show be cancelled? Do you even look at how many stars it has gotten from its fans ? FIVE stars. I am so sad to see it end. You have made a huge mistake.
Can not understand why you would cancel such a well written interesting show. Something worth watching to so many of us, not all that crap they call entertainment. Bring it back and give us some decent programming!!! Great show !!!
Big mistake dropping this show, so much better than all the other crime dramas. Someone has to pick this up !
I was looking forward to the next season to pick up where the previous episode left off to find out who was left standing after hearing a shot, Branch or his father. Yes, I will miss this series as it is one of a just a few I watch religiously. I certainly hope someone else picks this up. By the way, we like Wyoming, its history, and culture.
Longmire is by far better than 80% of the junk on tv. Please bring it back!!!
